Wow, I wasn't expecting it to do so well. Well done, I guess.

Who's played it? Is it any good?

Yeah, I've played it and I enjoy the game a lot. The story is a little short, but it makes up for it in the multi-player.

My personal opinion follows:

It's an alright game. The story is short and doesn't really go anywhere in my opinion, but I don't feel like I wasted time playing through it the two or three times I did. Multi-player is amazing, but the servers are out of whack. Understandable, but at the same time a pain.

OT:

I'm glad to see it's done well, and I'm honestly a little surprised. Good surprise though.

Seems idiots will buy anything if it is marketed enough.

Same situation with Kinect.

At least it's not selling as well on PC.
So your calling people who bought it, idiots?

Interesting story, gameplay tended to be very tedious, and glitchy. If they made a sequel that capitalized/fixed mostly everything in this game I see this becoming a franchise that could rival CoD. The story is there, the characters need work, sounds were...well, utter crap. A ton of potential that I would gladly have waited another 6 months to a year for a more polished product.

No, I'm calling people who bought it simply because it was marketed and not on the merits of the game idiots.

Really?

I completed the main story and felt underwhelmed (far too short and just leaves you hanging but not in the good way)

And playing the multiplayer was like eating razors due to connection errors in the servers.......I'll be trading my copy in for Crysis2 thank you very much.

Yea I figured it was selling a ton when I was with a friend checking out some games at Blockbuster when the girl behind the desk was talking about it. I'm not exactly enthusiastic about the game so I didn't get it, that and I'm sort of broke.

I was hoping to hear the ending was much more definite. I know this is supposed to be the opening shot in a franchise, but the best first episodes are *ALWAYS* the ones that bring the story to a fitting conclusion... just leaving enough elements open to support a continuation if sales warrant it.

I was hoping for a nicely epic single player campaign, not the usual six hour job.

Maybe I'll pick it up when it drops to $20.

Glad to hear it sold well. The single player was a tad short, but it's still fun. The multiplayer is pretty damn good, even though it's suffering a bit right now due to server problems. Kudos to Kaos ^_^

Yes, god forbid one of the "master race" enjoys this tripe. /sarcasm

Honestly, good for the developers. This definitely exceeds my expectations for the game. Kudos.

So then your magically presuming that a large group of people bought it solely based on marketing? There are a lot of shooter fans and the game got above average reviews.

Good for them. It's not really my cup of tea, but I'm glad to hear all their hard work is being rewarded. I'm sure I'll play it someday.

A 7 is average. It's an unremarkable game.

They have been rewarded indeed. They said they needed to sell 2 million copies to break even. So selling 2.4 million, they have broke even and past.

Well that's good news! It's always good to see a new IP, especially an FPS, not die horribly in te first couple of weeks!

It's a shame I'm currently too poor to grab a copy, maybe when the price comes down a bit!

Are they going to pass that money over and create Homeworld 3?

Of course not...
