A little late to the party perhaps, but a friend let me borrow his copy of Horizon Zero Dawn so I'm making a thread about it!

I cleared the game the other day and after doing that I decided to try and rush through New Game+ on Ultra Hard mode ( Damn you, trophy and in-game unlockables! ), I never really paid much attention to all the different weapons in the game so I went through most of it with my trusty Hunter Bow and Blast Sling, which worked just fine up until I got to the final boss of the game.

Having beaten Deathbringers a couple of times during the story, taking it slow and chipping away at its parts, I figured that the final fight would be easy going as well, but then I noticed that there's actually a timer in the final fight, something which I hadn't noticed in my initial playthrough. So here I was, low on materials ( I started the game with roughly 150 of everything and never bothered to loot or farm much ), low on ammunition and the timer ticking away, with only 8 seconds left on the timer I had given up on defeating the boss, but then, with 3 seconds on the timer the boss crumbled, man I was happy that I didn't have to redo that fight.

Another fun thing that happened to me during this playthrough is that the Shield-Weaver armor glitched out for a while, not sure what caused it but the animation for it glitched out, making the blue parts light up constantly out of sync, pretty fun.

Anyone got any neat pictures, videos or stories to share?

I loved Horizon and made a tribute/montage video awhile back. People totally underestimate the power of the RATTLER! And fighting on mounts is a ton of fun, I have a rockbreaker fight on a mount in the video. I really want to get the DLC and do a Ultra Hard playthrough as well as even on base Hard I had to house-rule stuff out of the game like the sharpshooter bow and corruption arrows.

Had a lot more fun with general robot fights than I expected to. Despite the fatigue over open-world games as of late, there was a visceral thrill to being able to just randomly bump into a bird that looked like it stepped out of a sci-fi Shadow of the Colossus.

I remember being left utterly exhausted and stunned by the final quest in The Frozen Wilds DLC (on Ultra-Hard), which is the mother of all gauntlets. Just when I thought it was finally over 'Oh, here's a daemonic Thunderjaw, here's a daemonic Scorcher, here's a goddamn robot bear from hell.' Whatever emotional conclusion there was was lost on me, because I was laughing like a madman by the end.

I enjoyed driving myself just a tiny bit insane tracking down all the little data files and making my little theories about just how things were before it all spun out on humanity.

Oh yeah, that dlc on ultra hard took a hard turn when it decided to introduce the last robo-creature. Cost me all my resources. Seemed to have infinite health at the time. Was kinda turned away from doing the post-game quest after realising how much farming would be required just to fight another.
Didn't realise there was a timer on the main final boss though. Perhaps the fear of hanging around too long in an angry death trap encouraged a far more aggressive playstyle to find out?

Still arguably the best looking game imo when considering its scale + level of detail.
While glossy graphics are one of the last things I like to judge a game by, I'd be lying if I didn't say that Horizon has some of the prettiest environments that I've ever seen in a game.

The level of detail to the snow physics in the DLC looked really fantastic.
