I'm used to play RTS's, RPG's, action orientated games and such. I never really got into the "horror/survival horror" genre.

So, since I got a bit of cash at the moment, can anyone recommend a game that isn't really that "scary". Something to "get me in" the horror genre.

If you have yet to, you should play Silent hill 2, my favourite horror game of all time.
Might buy it/rent it, waiting for a few more replies now before going to the store.

Dead Space isnt really scarey. It makes you jump though.

Plus the weapons are so overpowered, there's not much danger (depending on difficulty). Id recommend that.

Or Silent Hill 2 as stated above. One of my faves as well.

You can find it pretty cheap these days, I doubt you'll regret it.

I agree. That game is a must-play. Fatal Frame is petrifying, but Silent Hill 2 is still the best there is in the genre as far as I'm concerned.

Try Fatal Frame. That one's hardly scary at all.

Edit- Damn you, Pigeon. We could have scared him!

I would recommend System Shock 2, but all the other games would seem rubbish afterwards... If you want an introduction into Survival Horror, go fro Silent Hill 2. It's unsettling but not too scary and it's nowhere near as difficult as some of the Resident Gvil games.

Dead Space mostly makes me cringe from how the deaths all look (see last boss killing you video. :S)

RE 4/Bioshock (bioshock isn't really survival horror) also seem to fit what you're looking for. Neither are that scary, but they have nice atmospheres to make you enjoy the game.

Silent Hill 2, as said before.

Fatal Frame/Project Zero

or

Resident Evil 2 or 4, though they strike me as more survival/action horror games.
