How come WoC hasn't made a MTG show?

I bring this up because I just finished watching Shingeki no Bahamut, an anime made to promote a card game on mobile devices, not to mention it is a rather bad game. However the show is actually really good, its nothing great but it is still a fun fantasy adventure, not to mention they took a big risk with their protagonist's character design, a ginger with a facial scar and adorned with a jewfro.

My point is that a simple mobile game studio had this produced to promote their game, so why cant WoC do this. Hell Pokemon has been doing this since the beginning. They have a wide variety of settings to choose from and it wouldn't have to be a full blown series, just a miniseries would be cool. They have probably considered it so I wonder why they haven't done it? Personally I would love to see a Ravnica based story(or video game for that matter), that place is awesome. Do you think a series could work and what setting would you want them to use?

Because you're not allowed to own all of the money in the world.

Seriously, its the same reason we can't have a Pokemon MMO.

Because the world economy would collapse.

I am unfamiliar with those acronyms. What are we talking about?
Wet, Old Canines were a family of dogs who once had a bottle of milk. Being dogs, they couldn't open the fridge to keep the milk cold and it spoiled quickly in the humidity. Milk Turning Green is now a widespread problem, and it's easy to see why people would want to address it in a cinematic setting.

Some friends and I discuss the prospect of a Magic TV series every now and then. The two issues that we always come up with are if it should be live-action or animated and the budget. If a show were to be made, I would love to see the Brothers War as a miniseries and play through the Weatherlight saga as the actual show.

I don't think that the show would be certain enough to succeed. To people who haven't played MTG, it'd seem like just another generic fantasy story.

This, I think. Plus I'm sure there's a lot of players out there who don't care about story. They care about the game itself more than the story. The best way to do it would probably be something like Chaotic, which as a concept the series wasn't that bad. The idea being that players are still players, it's still a game, but players also have the ability to transport to the world the game takes place in, meeting the creatures they assume the role of in games, as well as certain locations, seeing spells, etc. Periodically (guessing once per episode for SOMEONE because kids' show) someone would 'scan' a character, location, or spell and add it to their collection. It seemed like whatever it was was usually something integral to the episode's plot.

I don't think that'd work, though, since many lore fans for Magic probably wouldn't find such a setup serious enough for them.

I'd go for some shorts, though. Things like what Garruk's been doing since Innistrad, Jace handling his new responsibilities as The Living Guildpact, Sarkhan and his messages from Obi-Wan-I mean Ugin, etc.

It'd be fun, particularly the older stuff like the Brothers' War which I wasn't around for (though I did get the broad strokes which makes me roll my eyes every time someone says "why don't they bring the Weatherlight back?" Because THEY CAN'T.), but it's just something like that you're better off waiting until you have that perfect, lightning-in-a-bottle combination of people and material to make it happen. A failed attempt would cause a lot of problems with the fans and the fans/players are ALREADY unhappy with Magic Online, so I think it's wise not to make them more irritated.
