How did you come up with your name? Did you steal it from some obscure NPC, or did you make it up yourself? Tell me the story.

By the way, my username on here is Kyle1527 because I made this account in my Xbox Gaming days :p. I've changed my name on the 360, but I don't know if you can change your name on this site.

My story is pretty retarded, but the name is pretty nice: Got mine in 2006 on the game 2moons. My career choice was pilot, and I really liked planes and stuff back then so I tried Avian, but sadly it wasn't available. So, I thought I'd find an original way to lengthen it, by adding "ion" to the end of it.

I wanted to stand out and look cool. I was 12 at the time, so it's no wonder three 'x's and '1337' made their way in there.

Eventually, though, I got tired of it. Jagex (the Runescape guys, though I was using their other site at the time) had just introduced a new members' only feature for name changes, and I decided to test it out. One of their games, based on Runescape, also had a major patch given then that involved a stupidly strong early-game unit, the falcon, get nerfed.

Somewhat out of protest (since I used that unit a lot as well, though not for the same reasons as the people who got it nerfed) I changed my name there to "NerfedFalcon". Since then I don't think I've used any name besides "NerfedFalcon" or a variation on "x13x37x".

When I first started playing runescape, my brother just jotted down something fantasy like (the king) and and then ert because they keyboard already spelt it out. I can't say why, but for some reason I've just used this name for everything.

But your name is Kyle1527...

Anyway, I got mine way back in like '04, grade 11 chem class. I asked the teacher why Tungsten's symbol was a W. He told me because the other name for it is Wolfram, which I thought was cool. So when I got Battlefield 1943, I made my username Wolfram and stuck with it. Not sure how I ended up with Wolfram01 here, I guess that was the first "other" version of it (when original is in use). Now I generally use Wolfram23 or The_Wolfram23 if it's unavailable.

Fable 1 the bad god (are they gods?) is Skorm, I wanted something that was more evil, what's more evil than a boss?

My Xbox 360 gamer tag is the same as my username.

Aero = I love flying, also a hint to my love for steampunk

Steam = Shows even more of my love for steampunk

1908 = Aerosteam was apparently already taken and a reference to my first username on the Internet ever, Jake1908.

Although mostly my friends call me Steam, Aero, Oreo or Jake.
Random people I recently just meet often mispronounce my name for Aerostream, Astrostream or Aerosmith.

Strain42 comes from a combination of small things from two of my favorite books. The 42 should be fairly obvious, I'm a Hitchhikers fan.

The Strain comes from my favorite book, Pest Control by Bill Fitzhugh. It's hard to find, but if anyone ever sees it I can't recommend it more. It's funny, well written action scenes, lots of interestingly varied characters.

Whenever I need to come up with an actual CHARACTER name though for online games, I take a mythological figure and turn it into a homonym (like Horus becoming Haurus or Medea becoming Madiah)

Sleekgiant is from my Xbawks random name generator.

My new Steam name, Corporal Husky is because I have a friend named Captain Corgi so its loosely based off his.

I wanted something that sounded like it came from some crazy scientist's lab or something, and taking inspiration from Wolverine's weapon's program name (or whatever it was - he was Weapon X) I came up with Specimen X. I think it sounds really cool. I have heard people mispronounce it as Spaceman for some odd reason though o_O.

Been using mines for like 14 years since I was 13. Used to be a tag up I'd write on walls as twista or twisted, later I started doing a tornado with a face with it then hearr a song named twisted heat and stuck with it. Never ran into a problem of others having it so I always used it.

"Amarok" is the name of an album by Mike Oldfield (and also the name of some Linux software but that's not what this account is named for)

My usual gamer handle "Humanfishboy" refers to a little comic series my sister drew up about ten years ago in which random passers-by accused me of being a fish.

My name here is my nickname from school.

My Xbox Live Gamertag "WhipYerTroutOut" all started when one of my friends ended up saying - and I'm not fully sure of the reason he said it - "Whip yer cod oot". One friend made that as his gamertag and then when I changed mine from whatever randomly generated one Microsoft gave me, I chose WhipYerTroutOut.

Melon Hunter - which I use pretty much everywhere - comes from a 4 player split-screen game of CoD 4 I was playing with my friends back in 2007. One of my friends was being trounced by the rest of us, so he amused himself by going around stabbing watermelons. We called him the Melon Hunter, and when the time came a couple of months later to come up with a Gamertag for Xbox Live, it was the best thing I could come up with. And so a legend began.

Xsin_R- not sure..somhow inspired by sin city I think
