I just started a Kickstarter for my Pathfinder Compatible campaign setting. I just want to make sure I do everything that I can to ensure it succeeds. Can anybody offer any suggestions?

First, define your target audience. Then attract a swathe of unmitigated harassment and hatred to scare your potential clients into funding your project.

Share it with friends. If it's any good they'll share it with their friends, and so on. Really, the best projects promote themselves because of how awesome they are, like Ouya, or the Oculus Rift.

Alternatively, @Zerstiren's proposition works just as well.

Get internet celebrities who would be interested in it an ask them for support. Make advertisements, define your target audience. Give out good rewards for contributors.

If there's one lesson you can take from RPS's Kickstarter Katchup every sunday, it's that the success of any project is both completely dependent on you and also totally out of your control.

The best thing you can do is show what you're working on(a youtube video or videos preferably, multiple screenshots otherwise), give a realistic timeline you intend to complete it, and make a preorder one of the lower tier rewards. Regular updates help a lot as well.

After that, it's entirely out of your hands. If it's a project people are interested in, it'll take off like Planetary Annihilation or Castle Story. If it's not, then it won't.
