How do you enjoy your games?

What are optimal gaming conditions for you? This has to be realistic, in other words, with some planning and preparation, you could actually play game like this on any given day. So no crazy wishes...

For me:
I should be incredibly stoned, laying on my comfy couch in my spongebob undies (they are incredibly comfortable and supportive) with some sort of large cheese/salsa covered meaty dish on the table in front of me and a tall glass of Jack and coke.

I should also be alone at home (unless my girlfriend wishes to perform oral pleasures on me while I play) and my cats should be sleeping. The weather should be hot, but not uncomfortably so.

If all goes to plan, this is usually how I game on a Saturday afternoon.

What's your most comfortable gaming conditions?

I game when I feel like it. Usually by myself when I have some time to kill.

I don't mind my surroundings.

When I play a game I try to look at all the little details that the art directors and sub animators put into scenes; so if there's a first person camera mode, I use it a lot. Doing this really immerses me into the gaming experience.
For example: In Shadow of the Colossus I visited every corner of the map and backtracked to every local' to see what the area looked and felt like in detail, without the giant boss trying to squish me.
Because of this style of play, a single playthrough normally takes me 6-7 hours longer than a typical players run through (or so i've been told). Guess I'm just really into a games scope, and if there isn't one there, I milk it for all it's worth.

As for my specific surroundings, I prefer to play on a weekend with no interruptions; it raining at medium strength all day. Keeping the windows open to smell the crisp air the rain brings and the calming sound of the raindrops on the roof.

Quiet surroundings, although not too quiet, comfy position either lying on the bed or sitting up against a wall, depending on whether im at home or at my place at uni, and nothing else to distract me, usually some food and drink within reach as well

I have to be alone. That's about it. I'm not a social gamer and in general the presence of other people (both online and in real life) interferes with my gaming. Something of an exception are MMOs, but I gave up on those. Also, I CAN play games with others, but then I don't see it as gaming since I'm not allowed to concentrate and focus on the game to enjoy it fully.

That's pretty much it, I don't need too much to have fun with games.

That said, I can't play when anyone else is making continuous repetitive noise.

Yep, basically this goes for me too. I like to be alone in the room as well.

I would want to be able to talk to someone while playing, probably my GF, and be able to go silent and enjoy the storyline at the same time when needed.

all my gaming platforms (PC, XBOX360 and PS3) are on the same table, and entirely integrated (PS3-PC connected through PS3 Media Center, and XBOX 360 - PC, connected through Windows Media Center), all connected to 2 different displays (22inch each), so lets say I want to play Half Life 2, CM10, while watching a movie I have on my PC HDD, so I turn on the PS3 use the PS3 Media Center and play that movie which is on the PC while playing CM 10. With a large cup of coffee or a beer nearby, while sitting on a very good chair I have.

Well doing anything stoned has to make the experience a whole lot better. Try watching Avatar stoned. That has gotta be amazing.

But OT, i'd say lounging on the bean bag as close to the screen as I can get, with a beer and the volume up through the roof.
