How do you react to blood?

I ask because a few minutes ago, I accidentally sliced my finger open while handling a knife and it's bleeding more than I thought it would. So because of the lack of plasters etc, I'm sitting here wiping away excess and I don't remember seeing this thread before. So how do you react to blood, and any stories of you/friends fainting, or anything?

Edit: another thing I was thinking about was that after a certain age I stopped using plasters and just let it dry/heal on its own. Anyone else have that?

I either react like a 'normal' person, that is, I'm totally OK with it and I'll calmly clean it up and see to any wounds either myself or the other person (as applicable) may have. Viscera and the like just doesn't bother me...

Or, I react like the occasional madman I am and slowly start to grin manically before laughing insanely.

'Have a drink?!'

I pass out at the sight of blood, granted not all of the time there's maybe a one in five chance that I'll feel anything at all and even then it's usually just wooziness and all i'll need is a sit down. if anyone wants a story they can have one, but none of them are very interesting.

It doesn't really have any effect on me. I've never seen huge amouts at a time though, so I'm not sure how I would react to that.
I did almost cut off my thumb once, and my first reaction was "Oops".

I dont like touching other peoples blood, and I don't really like the look of blood either, but for myself, I dont really mind it. I clean it up, I can drink my own...

It's been forced out of me enough that I don't usually get freaked...

I went to a Private Boarding school for a while, but after I got my nose broken, stabbed, shivved, someone tried to rape me with a lightbulb, set on fire (Matches and laser pointers)...

Well...

It wasn't a good school, but I got a lot of life experience, and now blood doesn't phase me, least of all mine.

I've seen a fuck ton of blood over the course of my life. It's never bothered me.

Also: I assume plasters are band-aids? If so, then I agree, I stopped bothering with those.

I hope that's not normal in where you live... If school's like that, I'm afraid to even imagine what it's like outside of schools.

Agreed. I should clarify, by "knife" I mean machete, I was balancing it on a vertical fulcrum again...

I did consider checking for a plaster, if only because it was bleeding a lot and I need to go into town soon. I'd rather not start walking through town like a madman, grinning psychotically as blood oozes down my hand.

Granted, I could just walk normally, and keep the hand to myself, but if I'm going to walk through a crowded area, bloodied, I'd feel foolish if I didn't do it right.

Doesn't faze me, my own or other peoples. Just another bodily fluid.

My step father on the other hand cant stand it, even if its just on television or something. Every time there's a medical operation or some such he has to turn away. Its hilarious seeing him watch something like House.

You should hire a Hugh Laurie look-alike to demean him with sharply worded remarks...

Well, if its like a small I go "aw sh**." and don't think much of it. HOWEVER, if its like a nosebleed waterfall I go "aw sh**."

So the same really.

I kind of force myself to relax and fix it up. It's interesting just getting over the automatic cringe barrier that we inflict upon ourselves.

I worship it, then boil it and pour it over my head...

In all seriousness, I clean it up.

Keep that finger high above your head and drink some sugar water if it's bleeding a lot. I'm a lifeguard.

I can deal with blood, doesn't phase me at all, same wih breaks and dislocations, to much time on another site random images havemade me almost immune to it....almost

My blood, my life force...hmmm better put it back in, *lick* *lick*...there, nothing shall ever have my blood!

In a adrenaline fueled situation I can channel my rage better.
