...A new Animated transformers movie was announced which would be a sequel to the original 1986 one. No Michael Bay. G1 robots in 2D.

I honestly don't know how I'd react. Sometimes fans need to realize three things: One, classics should normally stay classics. Two, sequels are normally never as good as their previous movie. Three, sequels to movies that aren't built for sequels are worthless.

To give an example as said in Yahtzee's words as well as my own thoughts when playing it on release, Bioshock 2 is a worthless add-on sequel to a stand alone amazingly done video game that has no opening to a sequel at all and the bullshit excuses the justify Bioshock 2 need to be torn from the face of earth!

-Cough- What I'm trying to say is the 1986 movie doesn't need a sequel. If at anything, I'd be skeptical.

Well this turned into quite a joke to me. Seeing so many people that never seen anything transformers related, let alone G1. I feel old for a 17 year old.

Never actually liked Transformers, even before Michael Bay started his work on them. So I'd say around 3-4/10 depending on how good the trailer is I guess.

1 to 2. I might watch it on DVD but I wouldn't rush out to the theaters to see it.

0 out of 10... like almost everyone else around here, I couldn't care less if they released a movie as you described. It's strange, I always thought that Transformers had quite a large nostalgic fanbase, but if it does they're not around here I guess.

Eh. I really liked the original movie, it was very creativity with its worldbuilding.

However, sticking another movie on top, "coz"...that has a habit of sucking. In any case, IMHO, it was the worldbuilding that made it, the characters weren't that interesting. Taking the same characters and sticking them somewhere else probably wouldn't work.

As yahtzee said "Hey fanboys, Transformers only loved you as long as you had limited acess to your parents money!" A franchise on gimmicky toys from the 90's (Quote moviebob: The 90's sucked) Can only create a larger scar on the film industry and removing Michael bay is not going to justify that, Even if you remove a shitty director from a shitty movie it will still be shit as the franchise was shit to begin with, So unless your mentally 12 years old then such a movie would most likely not create a spark of wonder before you, And yes i know alot of fanboys are going to yell at me for this so i am going to tell every one of you that if you think i misinterpreted my own opinion or is "A troll" then get yourself hurled out of your car and make sure your head hits the rear wheel.

You talking to I.R?

OT: No, I don't care. I'm not a Transformers fan and I only watched Michael Bay's Transformers for its fresh supply of explosions and military badassery.

My good sir, I am in no way calling you a troll. Even though I am a big Transformers fan, I have to agree to you with some reasoning. The Michael Bay movies, although the first one I enjoyed because of primarily the action...plus it was fun to laugh at the unrealistic military, I do think they were pretty shitty. On another note, and just to be a troll myself...Transformers were from 80's, not the 90's.

And now that, that is out of the way, G1 is long gone. Stick with the times, buy your copy of War for Cybertron 2 and play the upcoming Transformers Universe.

I'll go with 5/10. I used to love that show when I was a kid but I wouldn't be too excited. Don't get me wrong, I'd still go watch it just for the kicks. And I guess it would be a change of pace from all the movies coming out nowadays.
