So I was thinking..A lot of people talk about how they have nostalgia for games from when they were younger, but not many go into detail. I'm curious, what was your most loved franchise when younger, and why?

For me, it's Pokemon. I used the cards to make friends in school - trading, comparing and all that. It kept me positive during the time we had to go out of state to get away from my mum's boyfriend who beat me up and abused her often.. Hell, I even brought a copy of one of the games with me when I was in a psych hospital for a month. So whenever I think of Pokemon, I'm always remembering how it kept me sane growing up, and am grateful for it.

It was either Pokemon on the gameboy or Jak and Daxter on the PS2. Jak and Daxter got me hooked and I have been spending nearly all of my free time playing video games ever since.

Well, all of the friends I made in the first week of prep had one thing in common with me...

..we all loved Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.

And then there was Dynasty Warriors 4 which made me fascinated in history and still remains one of my favourite subjects.

Gaming was a big part of my childhood, I used to spend nearly every day playing a ton of games with my dad, anything from Zelda to Devil May Cry. He eventually stopped playing as he got older though.

But oddly, Pokemon as well, My dad and I played Pokemon Stadium nearly everyday and even when he stopped gaming, he'd always give me a hand with my Pokemon games. One morning I woke up and saw that my dad had grinded out all my Pokemon at least a few levels, given me a full stock of Full Restore and left me outside the Elite Four. Even to this day I always use his favourite Pokemon if I can manage it in playnthroughs.

Gaming has certainly affected my childhood, from the moment I got my original Gameboy at age 10. When I was still in school, I played a lot of Gameboy games (with link cable) or SNES games with friends. Nowadays I mostly game alone, but still play on the Xbox with a few friends. Seeing as how I've owned several consoles (Gameboy, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360) over the years and have always had a decent PC, I have a lot of good memories when it comes to gaming.
