How important do you consider sex?

Sex is everywhere, especially on the internet.

How important is it to you? The act of sex? Sex appeal in general? I didn't add a poll, because I figure this question would have many different answers.

Alright, to help make it more specific: By the act of sex, I don't mean the reproductive aspect, I mean the "Hey baby, I'm bored, lets bone." aspect.
And by sex appeal: I mean its representation in popular culture.
Also to add a further point, how often do you think about sex?

I don't know why I'm asking these questions, I guess I just figure its a pervasive element of society and I wonder how it affects an individual.

I think it would help if either the question was narrower, or you gave more information on exactly what specific areas of sex and sexuality you'd like people to address, perhaps in a list form or something.

Well sex is required to keep the human race from dying out, so it is pretty important in some aspects.

Sex appeal is somewhat important to me, just as seeing art, buildings, sculpture, landscaping and all other manner of things that "appeal" to the senses in place of their more horrible counterparts is something that i would prefer, i would prefer to see sexually appealing people around me. Naturally.

As for sex itself, its a very fun way to spend an evening with the person you love.

Being asexual, I don't.

We're doing pretty good, population-wise. Very little of us actually NEED to have sex anymore.

Personally i view Sex as not only the way we keep the species alive, but also as an important and emotional act that can help strengthen a relationship.
I think its important, but not extremely important.

Love is far more imporant than the act of sex itself. However, when they go hand in hand it is a good combination.
The only unfortunate thing is that Sex is used like a weapon so often. Assiasins and spies of old and contemporary, the church, angry girlfriends and boyfriends, it is a shame to see soemthing that has teh potential to be so much more than a simple physical act turned into something so nasty. Ah well, it jsut comes down to a question of pro's and con's
AS inelligant and sometimes all out icky as sex is, it is an important part of being human, a part that should not be ignored, and a part that should be shared with those one loves.
