Ripped directly from Kotaku:

"You may think you know a lot of video games. You may even think you could name hundreds of them from a single screenshot. Time to put that knowledge to the test!

Dom2D's Geek Mind challenge presents you with a seemingly never-ending cascade of screenshots and game art, challenging you to type the name of the game as swiftly as possible. Do it fast enough and your time builds alongside your points tally; respond too slowly (or incorrectly) and not only will you be covered in shame, but you'll lose points and time. Lose all of either and you're out.

There's a great selection of games on show, from classics to more contemporary titles, indies to blockbusters, so if you need to kill some time at work today, this is a great way to do it."

Make me proud Escapists! Take the quiz, and post your score here.

My first attempt: 11600
Second attempt: 14625

I tried that buy got annoyed when it didn't accept Brain Age and Dynablaster as answers. For North American gamers only, I think.

There are actually multiple answers for some of them; on one picture I clicked "hint" and it gave me two answers - one for the U.S. and one for the U.K. - so methinks that some UK names work just fine. I typed "Brain Age" for a few of the screens and got it right - are you sure that B.A. and Dynablaster were the right answers? ;)

Brain Age and Dynablaster were the right games. I even did a google search for the full "after the colon" title of Brain Age before trying just Brain Training which worked. They might have changed it since I tried it, maybe.

oh, that was infuriating. I knew answers but couldn't type them the way it wanted. Like Mariocart 64.

There's iPhone games on there? That's a little unfair. I can understand having obscure indie games, but not everyone has an iPhone and I'm sure few people keep up with the games on them.

Bull...

The answer was Heroes of Might & Magic 3. I know the game, but it wouldn't accept any of the names I put in. Heroes of Might and Magic, Might and Magic, Heroes of Might & Magic, or any over version of the name I tried. That *was* the game they were showing, no doubt whatsoever, I can even name what hero type and race was in the screenshot.

Score was up to 2125 when that came up. Annoying.

Second try got me to 6625. The answer was 'I wanna be the guy' but I couldn't type it fast enough. Ah well!

Third try got me to 12250. Not bad. It's the japanese stuff I always stumble over, was always more of a PC gamer although I do own an old NES and Genesis.

This is really annoying o_o

I wish it'd tell you what the right answer is afterwards.
The answers are annoyingly inconsistent. I'll see Megaman 2 come up but it'll only accept Megaman, or sometimes Mario can't decide whether it has the Super or Bros in the title.

Got 3975 in the end.

Between FF VII ,Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy 7 you just run out of time trying to type in the right answer...

I just had Super Mario Wii come up, and i ended up typing in 10 variations of the name and it wouldn't work. After googling it i'm assuming the answer was "New Super Mario Wii". I didn't even know "New" was part of the title D:
The correct answer was actually "New Super Mario Bros Wii". Damn game.

It douched me on:

Assassins Creed
Mario 3
Streets of Rage
Super Mario Bros
Zelda Wind Waker
Zelda Oracle of Seasons/Ages
Castlevania

I don't like this thing.

edit: I got to 7100, btw.

Yeah the game needs to have its bugs worked out, I typed "Dr. Mario" and "Ms. Pacman" 3 or 4 times each before I removed the periods, which were then accepted.

So here's a few tips: forget punctuation, use numbers instead of Roman numerals, and only type out subtitles if available. For instance, "Oblivion" or "Ocarina of Time" will be accepted, without the need to type "The Elder Scrolls IV" and "The Legend of Zelda" beforehand, respectively.

EDIT: Oh, and obviously "Mario 3" or "Mario Wii" don't work, since those aren't accurate. Neither is "Mariocart." ;)

First try was like 3900. There were a couple games I had to skip, then Fallout appeared with only 1 second left, I could've kept going.
