How many of you metal-heads are pacifists?

So I was just wondering, of all the people on the Escapist that like metal or consider themselves metalheads; how many of them are Pacifists?

Please, if you don't like metal; or don't consider yourself a metalhead - please don't vote in the poll. I'm trying to find evidence for a hypothesis I have.

I am kind of disobeying your wish. I like metal and listen to it, but am not a metalhead per se. I hate violence and rarely argue with people and people get pissed when I'm laid back. So yes I like metal and am a pacifist. Most of my metalhead fans are quite pacifist as well.

Being a metal head, yes i am a pacifist. I do not believe in harming other people for personal gain whats so ever.

I used to listen to metal a lot - less so now I suppose but I'm still connected heavily to that side of music through the industry, so I still know a lot about it.

I find that most metal is anti-war, in fact in my experience the anti-war metal outnumbers the pro-war metal by something like a 100 to 1 ratio. I think metal is all about peace because it's about getting your violent side out vicariously through music rather than by going out and punching someone's head in or whatever. The lyrics of most metal songs reflect this.

I'm not sure if I'm a "metal head" but I do like a lot of heavy bands. Disturbed, Slipknot, Korn (older stuff), Dope, and a few others. I'm not a war-monger, but I hate absolute pacifism. To me, that's simply cowardice. There are times that you have to fight.

For the record, I have never been in an actual fight. I tend to avoid them, but I am not afraid to fight if I need to.

I can react somewhat violently when I'm angry, but I don't like hurting people, or seeing others get hurt. I wouldn't say I'm a pacifist, but I wouldn't really fight for no reason. I just don't see a point to gratuitous and unnecessary violence (unless it's fictional, in which case it can be very entertaining). And while I don't always pay attention to the lyrics, I don't think I've heard a single metal song, except maybe Manowar, which promoted violence or war. And even Manowar only sings about fighting for metal and brotherhood and all that.

I'm a metalhead but I think violence can be the best option in some cases but often problems can be solved via other methods. So pretty much what lacsapix said.
