So, I was listening to the Radio on the way into work today, and I heard an interesting story. Supposedly (I say that because I'm not entirely certain of the validity of the story) a man won $250,000 at a Casino in New York, then apparently forgot the money in his cab on the way to the airport.
Fail.
However, when the cabbie found it, he turned it in, and the guy got it back.
Awesome, but what about the cabbie. According to the story the guy then tipped the cabbie $2,000.
Does that seem low to anyone else? I don't know about the rest of you, but if I lost that much money, and then someone returned it intact, they'd be leaving with a lot more than <1% of it.
So how about it, escapists? If you had won $250,000, lost it, then got it returned to you, how much, if any would you reward the person who turned it in.
Personally, if it happened to me, the cabbie would walk away with at least $50,000. That'd still leave me with $200,000 more than I would have had if he hadn't turned it in. I say he earned at least a 5th of it.
Fail.
