Y'know what Einstein apparently said about judging a fish on it's ability to climb? As I don't know where my part of the ocean is, can anyone give me advice on how to become a climbing fish?

You can't. That's literally what is meant. Don't judge based off impossible outcome. If you want to be the human equivalent of a climbing fish, breathe is space. Or walk at the speed of light. Or be 80 trillion feet tall. Or convince Games Workshop to reveal the lost Primarchs.

Be something literally impossible. And I do mean literally.

Also Einstein never said that. The quote doesn't exist before roughly 2004.

I think the point of the analogy was that people are intelligent at different things, and using one certain kind of test to judge people doesn't give you a rounded and balanced view of someone's skills and capabilities. You've just got to find what you're intelligent at doing and focus on that.

Also, on that note, in my experience most tests do a poor job of assessing your ability to do the thing they are striving to measure. I'm quite critical of the validity of things like driving tests and IQ tests for example. Unfortunately many teachers and employers will insist on using tests with flawed methodologies to judge you by!

To be honest I'd say the same as Nickolai, find something you are intelligent with, and strive and strive for it with all your heart. And keep your mind open for whatever it is you are intelligent at, explore new things, try out things you have never done before. Go friggin crazy with it!
