As a lot you guys know by now, congress is trying to pass a bill that would severely restrict the internet. One of the the many flaws in the bill is that even is a site contains a link from a site that has copyright infringement that site effectually gets shut down no questions asked. So a good way to possibly get rid of this bill is to use their own bill to against them and shut them down. Lets take on of the many bills' supporters for example. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/07/rupert-murdoch-stop-online-piracy-act_n_1135452.html) Rupert Murdoch who owns a lot of media (includes many peoples "favorite" on this website, Fox News). Now what were to happen to the websites of his many companies if I were to say, make a profile and post a link to Pirate Bay. Now you might say they could just get rid of the commenting feature. But what if hackers got into the site and posted links themselves. Sure they might be able to somehow argue over it in court, but if this were to happen on a near constant basis it would cost a lot of money to fight each claim. The same thing could be done to Hollywood movie companies and video game companies who support the bill and make promotional websites for their projects. Politicians who use websites for their re-elections could also have this done to them. I love if Anonymous were to take this idea and make a public statement saying that would do this to companies and politicians that supported the bill.
So I was wondering what you guys would think of this. Do you think this could work? Do you think Anonymous would and or should take this stance to fight against the people who support this bill? What are your general thoughts on SOPA and this idea?

[ url ] webpage [ / url ] will hyperlink the link (remember the http://, I had to be reminded a few days ago). Put url=some words in the first bracket and it'll appear as some words instead of the link.

It's an interesting theory, but governments tend to work on a do as I say, not as I do basis. If one of their supporters is sabotaged, they'll probably just discreetly get rid of the link.

Call the shit out of your representative. That's about the only thing that we can do at this point.

Don't send in emails or letters. A phone call has far more punch.

Good luck with that.

That it is to say, there is almost zero possibility that will do anything, and anyway, can't Obama just veto it?

You can point out the exact section that says that? Because I'm currently reading through H.R.3261, and I haven't seen anything like that.
