so.... I'm designing/writing something for a personal project , and I wanted to give this a try, to make sexualized characters, eye candy for the females. ... why you ask !??

NO I'm not trying to make a statement o anything like that, I just want to give this a try... really, I want to be able to make any kind of characters if I need to.

But ! ._. I'm having a hard time coming up with this with "sexy eye candy make characters for females", so I thought maybe asking for an opinion/helping hand here, now now I appreciate help from my fellow man , but I'm more interested in female opinion, or a honest gay man opinion ( I'm not sure if a female and a gay man have could consider attractive the same stuff.. so help me out)?

Before someone brings this up (because I'm almost sure someone will come up with this...) I don't the hawkeye initiative is a good source/help/example/whatever, why? ... well i don't want my male character to pose in a sexualized female way, I want them to be attractive to females..... I'm not sure but I think that the hawkeye initiative isn't eye candy for females..... is it?

In case you don't know the hawkeye initiative

http://thehawkeyeinitiative.com/

anyway thanks for reading and hope to see some advices.

( yeah I kind of realized that this topic would be better on the advice forum ? if so can someone move it please? sorry -_-)

I do wonder if given our social (and dare I say biological) traits if its possible to sexulise a guy in the SAME way as a female

Yeah the Hawkeye Initiave was just for lols, not meant to be taken seriously. If it was to be taken seriously then it would immediately look stupid because the definition of "sexualization" is massively different between the genders e.g. sexy poses/stances.

In any case, making eye candy for females is just as simple as eye candy for males - just dig up some of the most popular Yaoi and Shoujo manga/anime and should give you a decent idea. Or look up women's magazines, they occasionally tend to have articles about who (or what) women consider ultra-sexy.

Loads of oiled bare skin, a codpiece, nice amounts of muscle, certain facial expressions. Of course you could always just make them look like women if you need to (usually works).

From what I understand, female gamers tend to really like Dante from Devil May Cry.

No, not this Dante, this Dante is a little shit:

I've found characters that have their tops only halfway zipped and show off a some muscular chest (Reasonable sized ones) are a good place to start.

Naturally, there's a lot of variation, and bearing in mind that this is the twice-removed opinion of a gynosexual male, but going by conventional wisdom...relatively slender with some muscles (just shy of "hunk" level), and either tasteful eye direction to the crotch (if subtle) or a banana hammock (if unsubtle).

Here's a good example, if a bit subtle to be considered true "sexualization."

Or maybe that's just personal appeal. I'm straight as a ruler in a waffle press and I'd still melt into those arms given the chance.

I would say that you should look at pictures of male models to get some ideas.

incoming man flood

Camera angles,a relaxed posture, and implied eye contact. The posture is really important. The standard heroic type poses tend to be pretty static and dull. It's more likely to make your character(especially if they are well muscled) look like a walking rock. And that's not sexy. Of course being shirtless doesn't hurt, but a really tight shirt would work as well.

Put him in a situation where there is danger and he is being harmed.

Now put it at an angle that shows off his crotch very noticeably.

If it happened with Stephanie Brown, it could happen with a guy.

WTF is that and why it has no nipples?
This is something that bothers me in both male and female characters, it looks really creepy to me, but based on what straight females I know have said, they also appreciate seeing nipples on anime/cartoon characters.

Also nice butts.

There are also obviously different preferences, but seeing a character who is normally in charge and powerful being in a vulnerable position seems to do it at least for some women.

you can also look at the covers of romance novels(I REFUSE to call them bodice rippers and think that's a stupid term) and look at how the men are portrayed on those.

Though what one woman considers to be a sexualised male character another might not. For example, out of everything above, the only one even slightly near what I like is older Dante.

But then I'm also not much for a lot of muscle in my guys. I like useable muscle not just show muscle. If I can see your veins popping out of your skin without you flexing because of your muscles, it's too much and disgusting. Let's see if I can find my examples of things I would find "sexy" (also the post about the poses is very accurate body language and lighting do wonders for sexy or not and personally I find the oiled or wet look to be ridiculous looking unless the person has just come out of a shower, rainstorm, or some body of water)

(ok fine I might have a minor thing for men in suits...I am kind of an anomaly since I also like em with facial and chest hair)

(minus the stupid expressions in both photos)

(it's purely the look in that one)

Shush. I like men with beautiful voices and nice bodies.....and may have a predisposition to those who have played a vampire in a musical...or the phantom.....

(mmm valjean.....)

Mind you, most of these are MY personal preference but I did try and throw in some that are more kind of objective on sexy or not...actually all of these are objective for it but I tried for a few that aren't necessarily my style per se...

Most of these pictures confuse the hell out me as bisexual woman. ESPECIALLY the decapitated model, what the hell is up with that?! In my experience the first thing most women look for in a man visually speaking is the face. Something that seems to go by unnoticed in this kind of threads. I remember someone posting Marcus Fenix as proof of a character sexualized for the female eye for vanaheims sake!

The way the characters personality is shown is not something to overlook either. In regards to "sexy" male characters John Marston pops up every now and then. A bit of a stubble, a few scars, kind eyes and his motivation is to just get his family back.

Dante works due to obvious reasons. Stylish leather outfit, muscles but still slim and not a freaking gorilla, nice face and a playful personality. That guy should do porn in my opinion. Adam Jensen is another good example for other reasons, such as a nice beard, well-kept hair, dry sexy voice, stylish coat and sunglasses. The Jensen archetype seems to be more popular with straight guys.

THIS, a good looking butt is just as popular with the ladies as with the gents.

Make them muscular, but not too muscular. Half Naked or skintight clothes (preferably wet and half see through).
They should have dat ass.
Don't know about anyone else, but Link gives me a boner far too often and if Nintendo made a game with a (more) sexualized Link I would be more than happy.

Also shirtless Vega in ME3 was damn hot.

Easy a half naked muscled man in speedos - remember the scene in James Bond where Daniel Craig walked out the water? Yeah that was for the girls in the audience. Same with every male actor who shows off his six pack in a movie. Now i know that works in movies, but in a game, i dont think woman would get any kind of thrill from that. I know both genders find a great looking body sexy, but woman also go for character traits as well like bravery etc Maybe woman are better to answer this thread than men. lol
