How To Unlock ALL Street Fighter IV Characters - THE RIGHT WAY

Now that SFiv has been released state site, SFiv players far and wide have been itching to get their hands on all the unlockable characters in the game. It's evident that looking up hints online is a bright thing to do but it seems 90% of the published procedures are incorrect. So I thought I'd post the correct way to unlock every character in the game since there hasn't been a post yet. Here's how I did it for 360 but I'm assuming it'll work for PS3 as well:

This can be done on any difficulty, any round count and any time limit.


Cammy: Complete Arcade mode with C. Viper

Dan: Complete Arcade mode with Sakura

Fei Long: Complete Arcade mode with Abel

Gen: Complete Arcade mode with Chun-Li

Rose: Complete Arcade mode with M. Bison

Sakura: Complete Arcade mode with Ryu

Akuma: Unlock all available characters except Akuma, Gouken and Seth. Complete Arcade mode using a character you've already beat the game with without losing a round and getting at least 2 perfect rounds(total). you will fight Akuma after Seth. I want to note that I'm not entirely sure you need to get 2 perfect rounds for this unlockable but I did anyway, just to be safe

Gouken: Get 2 perfects, 3 Ultra finishes and complete Arcade mode without continuing. you will fight Gouken after Seth. ***This challenge must be done in order. You must do 2 perfects, then do 3 Ultra Finishes in a row for it to work*** I need to add that I did this with Akuma but I'm assuming it'll work with any character

Seth: Complete Arcade mode with ALL characters, regular and unlockable, including Akuma and Gouken


I hope this helps those of you who've been pulling your hair out trying to do this.

Or capcom'll release a DLC that unlocks everything, but i'd be really dissapointed with them of they did, its a sucky move. leave that to ea, they just did it for skate2

either what you said about akuma and gouken are completely false, or they patched the game on the release day (ive had it for a couple days early).

To me, it was

Gouken: Finish with akuma first, then replay with 1 perfect, 2 ultras, and no continues.

Yeh. the game was patched on the release date. The info available on sites such as IGN or Wikicheats currently is incorrect. it's possible they posted early and then the patch changed the conditions. hence the post.

Does this need to be done in order? 1 perfect and then 2 ultras?
Beacuse I swear I did that many times, but then again I did have it on 4rounds to win, does it have to be the actual last winning round to count?

Also, after unlocking Akuma/Gouken, would they appear normally in arcade mode? Or would you have to get the perfects and ultras again to make them appear? (This is for the Complete game on hardest and defeating Gouken during.)
