47 minutes past launch date..No official word..their forums up in smoke..You'd think they'd have seen this coming. Again..

Give it time, come on. 47 minutes isn't that much to get into an uproar about, surely? Maybe a few more hours, yes, but it hasn't even been an hour, come on...

Just kind of annoying how they advertise "Play the moment it's released" but then have difficulties releasing. I just wanted to get one game in before it got too late.

Gosh dang it, Valve. Half of your steam group was playing the game an hour before it was released. Why do you do this to us?

I see you've never actually had to deal with Valve time.

We're in for another day and a half of waiting. Everyone, set your clocks.

Ya well be lucky they are actually scheduling it to release around midnight. Usually they release games at 3 pm EST. So just feel lucky you dont have to wait till then. If nothing else try to restart your steam client and see if its up and running.

Can't you find something else to play meanwhile? Will make the time pass by quicker at least.

As much as they hyped this game and sunk tons of money/etc, It is extremely disappointing they can't pull out all the stops to keep this from happening..

mikeblas: We've found a crashing bug at the last moment.
mikeblas: We think it's fixed, but aren't sure, and are testing.
mikeblas: We'll release the game when we're sure we have a fix.

Oh, screw you, Mike.

Yeah, see, I'm just not the sort who buys games instantly on release. I've never pre-ordered anything and I don't wait until midnight to get a game on launch day. I appreciate others will, and that's fair enough, but I've just never saw the appeal. I'd rather wait and get it when I can actually play it when I get home, i.e. shortly afterwards and during the day, and I prefer to get pre-owned anyway since it's cheaper (unless there's a limited edition set I'm after, such as when I bought Halo Wars or when AC2 comes out, I'm getting the Black Edition).

i never thought a sequel for L4D was completely necessary since there really isn't much story, the first game could have just had DLC to add to it in my opinion. not to say it bad just...why make that when people are still waiting on Half-life episode 3 ya know?

anyway assassin's creed will probably be more popular in my opinion...only 13more hours until i get my copy =D

im sure L4D2 will be a hit too of course

Basically this. When you're willing to wait years on end for episode 3 an hour is no thing to get worked up about.

As you should understand, some people do play until the game is released. Note, not until it's pre-released or 'beta testing' but, y'know, officially released.

It's like trying to get into a movie at it's midnight release and being told the movie won't be shown at the promised time because they forgot the buy the film, except that most of us paid for their screw up in advance, which is disappointing.

But Valvetimeamirite?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Thats a big 'SCREW YOU!' from the staff. I hope it boils your blood. Because you're a sad little man.

I for one am just glad all the staff are playing it. That means its ready to be on the market.

Everytime something happens at valve, I'm sure they must at least lose one server to epic forum rage, causing violent spontanious combustion.

I mean you would not believe how much people COMPLAIN on that thing. Every time they update tf2 they get yelled at!
