It seems these days if you aren't connected to twitter and/or facebook constantly with your Irange you might as well be a caveman figuring out fire hurts.

Are you easily able to connect your fridge to the net to order food as you take it out or are you like me and still can't connect an Ipod to Wifi?

Are you still using wires like an 80 year old or if there is so much as a charging cable in sight you flip out?

I've got a facebook. That's about it.
If anyone wants to donate a face it'd be appreciated. I still have many blank pages.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hol-

I dont use facebook or twitter or any kind of social networking. I use MSN to chat to friends i wanna talk to, its like facebook but i get to have real conversation and ONLY with the people i like :D And theres NO inane bullshit unless i want the conversation to be like that. Its fucking amazing.

I use my phone for texts and music without having an IPOD or an Iphone (i KNOW RIGHT?! How can this BE!) Because i dont believe in buying TWO expensive electronics products when one 70 pound phone will cover ALL my music needs AND phone needs without the need for a contract. They last longer too, this things resiliant.

Im pretty saavy with all the new technology, we go over programming, software design and hardware design in my computing course. However i dont actually use these things very often myself, usually to help a friend whos broken things.

Personally I have facebook, blackberry and an Ipod (which can't get on the net to save it's life!).

Due to the engineer in me, everything in my flat is wired. Wireless just means another thing to go wrong, plus there is a small delay between actions.

I also can't stand twitter, it's a creepy site. Plus what is with the whole you can't privately message people unless you are both following each other? It all seems a little stalker-ish and public to me.

I have a Facebook page, but I barley use it, and I don't even have a twitter account.

OT: I used be on Facebook. Now I'm not. I don't hate it or anything, nothing so dramatic. I have a Twitter account, but I don't post things on it myself. I just follow people and organizations I'm interested in.

I have an iPod, but it's a Classic (I prefer durability and space). I have a smartphone, but it's a Blackberry (and it sucks). I have a Kindle 3G. And I live in my own cultural bubble. I can't remember the last time outside of bars or a background song in a TV show that I heard a song that wasn't on my iPod. So how "with it" am I? Kind of a mixed bag.

I still think information coming from other computers possibly thousands of miles away, through a bunch of cables into my home, then travelling through the fucking air to be displayed on my laptop screen in a matter of seconds is the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

So to answer the question, no, I'm not with it at all.

Yeah, I don't understand it either. I use a tape deck to use my iPod in my car and it just blows my mind whenever I think about it. How does that shit work?

I only have a Facebook account for the sole purpose of having it remember birthdays for me. When I want to contact someone, I text or whats app them, if not actually visit them.

I assume so, hotels use a system that detects when you take something out of the fridge so they can charge you for it. There is also a thing that supermarkets use to reorder stock that has been sold, so if 10 are sold it orders 10 more.

I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibilities that you could hook it up to a fridge to make it order stuff you take out, the problem is things like milk. Unless you use whole cartons of milk at a time then you will end up with an order of 20 cartons of milk a day.

I just thought of a pretty weird idea and typed it, only after you saying that made me think about it.

If there isn't one, I could have just made you a millionaire.

For the record, they had already figured how fire works by the time I came along. It was our job to figure out how to saddle the dinosaurs so we could ride them to school.

OT: I am so not "with it" by today's standards, I might as well not even exist according to my students. I do not own a cell phone. I have never sent a tweet or even a text message. I have never logged onto Facebook, Myspace or any other social network site (this forum is as close as I've ever gotten). I stood still in shock and amazement when I heard someone say that "I only text 'cause email's too slow."

I AM THE CAVEMAN!! ook ook

I'm pretty good with technology. I pick things up fast. I like the way things like Twitter and Facebook remove barriers. You can ask people and companies questions and people answer you because it's quick and easy.

I have a facebook page, that I don't use at all (It's just there so I can receive messages and such)

I have a blackberry that I use only for calls, texts and blackberry chat.

I have an ipod touch that I bought when it first came out (A 16GB one cause I wanted food that day and so couldn't afford the 32GB one even though they were on sale at the apple store) I would connect it to wifi more if people didn't keep password protecting them...

I have one of the original DS's (I whipped it out at college instead of doing work and my friends laughed at me... Since not only has the new slimmer version already come out the damn 3DS has already come out (Which I cannot use as it breaks my eyes and causes me to see 2 of everything instead of working))

I know that some people don't use ipods in favour of having their music on their phones, but I cannot do that, my phone says I have like 200MB of room for music, I have about 4GB of music on my ipod (Yeah, yeah I need to get more, but I don't like pirating and have no money)

I think I'm with it in the sense that I can pick up the new stuff pretty quickly, but I choose not to out of principle (I dislike the social networking sites as it encourages people to talk about random bullshit using an incomprehensible language) or for the lack of needing to (I mean my DS still works, why would I need a smaller one with larger screens? (That aspect always confused me about the DS lite))

Yeah, I'd rather my phone and music player not be the same device too. I listen to music too much, and have about 80 Gigs of it. I'd rather the two things not be drawing from the same battery.

Facebook, not that regularly, and a twitter account for the program I'm maintaining (although that's not used very much). I'm way back in the 90's really, wishing the glory days of the internet would come back.

Oh yes I'm very with it! I'm down with the kids, I've got my FaceTube and my MyBook and I use my Blueberry all the time!

OT: I use Facebook and Twitter quite regularly, although I'm growing quite bored with Facebook. I won't get rid of it though (at least not ATM) as it's still a good way to get in touch with friends and remember birthdays and the like.

I haven't used facebook in a month, I haven't seen, much less used, my cell phone in a fortnight, and I haven't checked my email in half a week. My friends give me weird looks.

That said, my iPod and computer are meticulously organized - when I'm not having to remake my library cause my last computer/iPod broke...
