I believe I posted in a thread like this before and my idea was to start small and hire illegal mexican immigrants to join my army and then I train them in combat and after training I send them back to mexico to recruit other mexicans. After I have enough mexicans in my army I'll take over the drug cartels that are in mexico (by force if necessary) and then I slowly take control of all the south american countries.

After control of south america I then set my sites on countries in the Middle East and Africa and after those are taken control of I then use my special ops soldiers and then we kidnap the president of the US (or any other big country with nukes) and I force NATO to name me emperor of the world.

I've actually given this a great deal of thought. Basically, it's a covert campaign of political subterfuge in three main areas: Switzerland, Afghanistan, and Australia. Switzerland is a strategically important position, easily defended and quickly militarized. Australia is largely self-sufficient and unlikely to draw major attention from other world powers. And Afghanistan is where we would appear to be concentrating our efforts in order to draw attention away from the other two areas- plus, on the off chance that we gain control of Afghanistan, we would have power in the most unconquerable nation on the planet.

OT: I'd go for a political takeover, to minimize casualties, and barring that working I'd break out a doomsday weapon that would destroy people based on whether or not they oppose me. If I have the resources I'd have that thing ready regardless of whether I needed to use it.
