As I find myself getting older, I am suddenly realizing that there is a lot of shit out there that could potentially kill me someday. By my reasoning there are only 4 different ways to die; those being Biological, Sociological, Technological and Natural Disasters. To keep things simple, Biological covers disease, injury, natural causes, ect. Sociological deaths include dying in war, competitions, suicide and getting murdered and things such as these. Technological deaths include anything from car wrecks, to killer robots, to global warming and anything in-between. And if you don't know what is covered by Natural Disasters then you should look under the Sociological tab and consider choice number 3.

Recently, I saw a commercial on TV which I believe has greatly tilted the likelihood of my death towards being Technological. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwfqSzkWu2k ) I've never really been the Terminator/ BSG-- the machines are out to get me kind of guy, but learning how much more advanced we are getting is just starting to get scary. I figure that there is about a 70% chance that within the next 50 years either, computers take over and kill us all, nanotechnology gets out of hand and we're all killed by the Replicators from Stargate, we get in a nuclear war, global warming kills us, or we accidentally make a black hole and it sucks us all in. I'm already starting to think that my computer might just have it in for me.

Am I being paranoid or does anyone else have these concerns? If not, then how do you think you'll die?

I won't. I refuse. But if I had to, I guess probably biological, since I have no intentions of joining the military, and nobody ever thinks an accident, murder, or natural disaster will happen to them.

Well, that's what everybody around me says.
People have said the same thing to me, but I still think the robots will get there first.

Biological definatly, it seems every generation has the same worries even in the middle age. God will strike us down god will send hurricanes. Just switch god with global warming and you get my point.

I'll either die in a freak zeppelin accident or get to see the end of the world thanks to a highly secret govenment experiment that goes wrong and kills everyone in a matter or seconds.

Everything else would be really disappointing ^^.

I will 'die' while downloading my brain into my computer, before I use it to send said brain into every other computer on the planet and taking over the world slowly turning the world into something akin to how the borg may have started.

howzat?

Mark my words. I will find and kill you before you ever get the chance to download yourself. Or at least do it myself first.

Probably by being shot, run through, blown up, or something of the sort. ^_^ I dunno, going quietly in my bed with a bag of my own piss beside me doesn't appeal to me.

Speak for yourself, mate. If I were a gambling man I would put a wager on my dying in an accident (probably car.)

Drowning in champagne while being sexed to death by a pile of women and eating cheesecake. And playing a killer rock guitar solo.

Or I'll have an aneurism, alone and unloved.

Or something in between those two.

I plan on dying while playing the latest Resident Evil at the time. I would be playing through the game when all of a sudden an enemy pops out from nowhere and my heart not being able to take the strain the scare is having on my body and as my character is ripped to by an undead force so when the screen says YOU ARE DEAD. It won't just be talking about my character.

Also imagine finding the death screen from Resident Evil near actual dead body. Somebody is going to freak out when they find that scene.
