So I was just listening to "Wiretap" and they were doing an episode about hypothetical questions. Two of my favourite were:

1. You have a brain tumor, however, your life can and will be saved by an operation that will happen in two weeks.. This operation will cause serious damage to your frontal lobe and afterwards, you will be significantly less intelligent, have a poor memory and have a much harder time understanding complex concepts. How do you spend your next two weeks?

2. Someone finally invents a dream VCR, a VCR that records dreams. However, the inventor will only allow you to watch your dreams in the presence of your closest friends and family. Do you still watch your dreams?

So I ask, fellow escapists, what is your response to these two questions? And feel free to post any other hypothetical questions as well.

1. The same thing I do every night, dancing.
2. My dreams are for me and me alone. Trust me.
My question: If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, can we get ice cream?

1. I might actually concider killing myself. Or try to create a robot that thinks exactly like the present me.

2. Meh, wouldn't be that bad. Most dreams I can remember are epic dreams about me fist fighting satan in hell while flying on angel wings. No problem with anyone seeing that.

for the first one, I'd cancel the appointment and take death and then just do everything I wanted to do before. Like go parachuting.

For the second, yeah I would, I'd be fine with other people seeing my dreams.

1: Cancel any applications to Oxbridge.

2: Hell no. I'm a teenager. No-one should see my dreams. Not even me.

1. I would probably not do anything too different for the next 2 weeks.

2. No way I would watch them with my family and friends, it would be waaaaaaay to embarrassing and awkward.

1. Exactly how unintelligent are we talking here? Forrest Gump or chimpanzee?

2. Nay. My dreams are either completely insane or delicately private, I wouldn't want my family and friends to leave freaked out or in an uncomfortable mood.

I'd want to see them but no one else. They would be rated X and....interesting. Many involving Samantha Carter.....

1.I'd spend my time learning how to improve memory and one's ability to perform complex tasks, and then I'd write down said information in such a way that anyone could understand it. Never give up hope.

2.Screw that, I'd steal the dream VCR and watch mu own dreams in the privacy of my own home.

1)No-My intelligence is part of who I am and I would rather be dead than be a burden on my family,

2)No-I have horrible nightmares that I would prefer not to remember.

1. I would not have the operation. Then do my "bucket list"

2. NO. That would not be a good idea. Since I am a teenager. Not a good idea.

If I had to get the surgery I doubt I'd do anything differently. I'm undecided on wether I'd want it or not though.

I trust my family for the most part and if it was just them and the friends I trust most I don't think I'd have a problem with it. It would probably be more embarrassing for them than me. Added to that the fact that other people's dreams are always unbelievably boring and I think they are the ones who would turn it down.

Everyone dreams.

1. Depends how much less intelligent I became, and whether I was incapable of looking after myself, etc. But I'm not sure if I'd have the op if I then had to spend the rest of my life confused and empty.

2. Haha, nooooooo way, I'm 15, my dreams shouldn't be seen by anyone, least of all my parents.

1. Probably not doing much out of the ordinary because it won't exactly matter anyway as I'd likely not be able to remember anything clever I did.

2. Hell yea. It's only my subconscious, nothing I have to be ashamed about. Plus it would be nice just to see what happened in there because I can never remember.

1. Loose intelligence? Oh no, not going to happen, I'll freeze myself instead.

2. No, absolutely not. My dreams and day-dreams are for me, and only me.
