Then stick to Off-Topic Discussion, as games don't come up as often.

If it's just the lack of gaming knowledge holding you back, there are six other forums to post in.
What these guys said. It's not all games all the time. There's lots of other stuff as well.

You don't have to play a lot of video games to post here.
That is what the Off-Topic section is for.
As you can see. No games involved.
Then there are Forum Games & RP, to just relax and have fun with others.
Or Religion & Politics, if you dare to venture there.
And the Advice and User Reviews sections.
Only one part is really dedicated to games, electronic or otherwise.

Yeah I have to agree, there are other forums and topics. It's not like anyone (that isn't a prick anyway) is going to have an issue with your knowledge, or lack thereof. Hell I read the articles and watched the shows produced by the escapst for almost two years before I signed up.

Less than 60 posts and a month subscribed. You could have just as easily left without saying a word, instead of bringing attention to yourself.

Make sure you serve your notice, or you know, just don't go to a website you don't enjoy instead of being all dramatic about it!

This and also-don't go into gaming forum, or play more games. Why make such a big fuss? Although I read one of your earlier posts(OP)saying you were on shrooms...

The escapist isn't just about games. Yes it may be a forum designed for gamers and aimed at gamers, but there is still plenty of content on this site that doesn't revolve around games.

However, if you don't feel at home here or do not feel that the escapist is the type of forum that you are looking for, then I cannot attempt to convince you to stay.

There are plenty of forums out there on the internet, I personally prefer the escapist due to it's varied and interesting array of content, whether it be user contributed or one of the featured content. It is also well moderated and is able to maintain a certain level of formality that many other forums out there lack, which i find somewhat refreshing. If this is not what you are looking for though, then I bid you a kind farewell and wish you good luck in finding a more appropriate forum for yourself.

If a high-profile member leaves, maybe a hey-look-at-me thread is excusable.

But for you? Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you.

Don't feel bad about not knowing enough about games. Hell, I haven't played a single mainstream game released in the past several years. I don't know what half the people here are talking about half the time. But you know what that means? You can add your own flavor to the board, talk about something that most people here don't post about.

there's plenty of other stuff to post on. you can always make threads about other stuff that interests you. if you really want to quit, don't make a song and dance about it
