So me and a few buddies on my floor in my dorm are trying to connect to each others parties, but we cant. I think that we are all on the same IP, and we each have our own routers. Any suggestions to what we could do to fix the problem?
If you were all on the same IP, you would all be on the same Xbox. That part of your post makes no sense.
Make sure all your NAT settings are Open...check your router configuration pages and tell it to assign you a public IP address instead of a private one.
Don't worry I've had the same problem for the longest time, It also won't let me play ODST with them or L4D so this is what you have to do, but it might be a little pain in the ass to get done depending on where you live and such.
But what you have to do is go to your Router and take out your internet cord, then plug it straight into the Modem. BAM!, connect to Xbox Live and jam with your mates.
I've had this problem before. It was once corrected by resetting my router and another time I called MS and they said to delete the friend and re-add them... It worked. Haven't had the problem since.
