I cant remember the name of a game i played years ago... help relly wanna see it again

hello everyone i trying to figure out a game i played when i was little.
the game is a 2D game, i think it was a point and click adventure game. it featured captured characters, you controlled a man, and you had to solve something, it featured time travel. and i remember some kind of a green monster thingy in it. i know its not much to help figure out the name, but damn i relly wanna know the name. it also had some cutscenes. plz help me

ps. i dont think it was a kids game, but it definitly had some humor in it. it reminds me of movies like space jam, not because of the characters, but the mix of cartoon and real life characters

and the game couldn´t have been too old, cause i played it, and i am from 1992

wait, captured characters. The only captured characters adventure game I played was Journeyman Project 2: legacy of time, but that was 1st person, like Myst

aww good guesses but it aint one of those, im not sure if the game character was captured, but the cutscenes where. it was a man in brown clothes. and you where like all over the place.
