How does riding a horse cause it to be euthanised?

They make different types of horse shoes for different types of riding and the horse was not properly equipped with the right shoes to ride on the road. Not having the right shoes can seriously injure the horse, as is what happened in this case. I am guessing the guy riding the horse was ignorant of this and rode the horse like that anyhow. I think it is unlikely the guy intentionally tried to injure the horse, but if the guy was riding the horse at all, he should have been aware of this ahead of time, or if he was aware of this, he should have taken this knowledge more seriously. It is horrific that the poor horse had to go through that, I do doubt it was intentional, but feigning ignorance after the fact does not excuse the man for not checking the horse's well being prior and during to allowing that much damage to happen and him whipping and kicking the horse is flat out disgusting and inexcusable. He was riding the horse to death and not checking on the horse's well being at all to do that type of damage to it. He should be charged regardless due to kicking and whipping the horse into causing that much pain and suffering for this poor horse even if he was ignorant of the shoes or any other factors.
