I can't see a therapist

I suffer from crippling panic attacks and near constant paranoia. I've been like this for as long as I can remember. I thought I was able to deal with it, but I can't. Having just experienced another panic attack. I've confronted my parents about letting me see a therapist. Simply put, they don't think I need it. They think that they're better suited for this than an actual psychologist. Thing is, they don't give good advice. Everything they've ever told me can be summarized as "Just stop being paranoid".

I don't know what to do, I don't know where to find a psychologist on my own, and I wouldn't be able to pay for it if I could. Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you a student? If so, your school guidance counselor may be able to help you.
I am a student, but the guidance counselors at my school don't do that. They really only help with class scheduling.

Go to your doctor (if your parents won't let you go for this, come up with some other reason--maybe get your physical out of the way at the same time) and tell him the problem. Your parents may pay more attention to a trained professional saying "this is not being handled appropriately, here's what you should do."

Yea, do what Brass said and go see your doctor. If you think your parents won't let you tell them you think you have strep throat.

Yep, there's someone higher to appeal to than your parents. If they're rational they'll trust a medical opinion. If they don't, maybe you'll get carted away by child services.
