I cry at the movies

I cry. Openly. Big fat sweaty man-tears. Sometimes I dont know why (most of the time I do). Doesnt make the tears come any less heavily tho, but there is a pattern - I like animated films, kids films, etc. So.... Latest movies I cried to, and why:

How to Train Your Dragon
The last scene where his pet risks his life for him, and the lead still loses his leg for the clan... I burst into tears. What he sacrificed, his freedom and mobility, it killed me. Cannot watch that movie without crying.

Cars 1:
In a moment, a character being forced to choose between a socially expected response (ie winning), vs what they actually want (ie supporting others), for some reason it really kills me. It takes Clint Eastwood level focus not to tear up.

Cloudy w a Chance Of Meatballs:
The family relationships really touch me - The desperation of the parents, trying to buy their childs love; the nativity of the children, ultimately leading to their own downfall; the determination of the heros, their willingness to die faceless for their own beliefs... *sniff*

Kung Fu Panda:
The leads lack of faith in self, developing into such confidence / strength. The willingness of the supporting characters to accept their own weaknesses. 'Fate' meaning an individuals decisions are ultimately useless.. I always cry at this end..

So.... What movies have your cried to recently?

Oh and...

Up:
My god I'm a baby from about 5 mins in til the end... Having to endure the old mans loss in the opening scenes is unbearable. The quiet desperation throughout the film haunts me....

Well, I've never cried in the movies because I've never watched any movies that have made me want to cry at the cinema yet. I dodged a bullet when I missed Toy Story 3's initial cinema run, I was blubbering at the end of that.

Only a couple movies have made me cry they are:

Braveheart: Do I really need to explain this one? All I have to say if that certain scene did not make you a little sad then you are inhuman.

Saving Private Ryan: The end gets me everytime, so much death to save one kid.

Marley and Me: Once again if you've seen it you know why. Last 30 minutes had me crying like a child.

I really don't cry much and only those movies and a couple anime have brought tears to my eyes. None of the movies you listed have even been close to getting a emotional response from me. I can understand How to Train Your Dragon and Up, but the other three really confuse me.

I rarely cry. Though I did shed a couple tears watching Lord of the Rings when Gandalf was pulled down the cliff in Moria by the Balrog.

Few movies actually manage to make me cry. The Lion King is a certain one though. I almost always cry during it. Sometimes more than once, but not when the sad stuff happens. The usual places for me would be the beginning and when he returns home, not when his dad dies.

Last movie I cried to was Les Miserables when I watched it in cinemas at the beginning of this year.

None! My unwillingness to cry toward a film is like an iron wall! Well ok there is nothing wrong getting emotional watching a film and the only closest to get emotionally involve in a film (my eyes water up) was near the end of Grabe of the Fireflies (you know which part I'm referring to). At least I do feel something in a film unlike my bro (he didn't get wept up in that same scene but he did adknowledge that it is a sadfilm).

The only film I've ever even sniffled at in public is Up. God damn those first 10 minutes.

Other than that, I've never cried in public. I'm be too embarrassed at myself. Though at home I am a bit more willing to get emotionally invested in films. (Though I tend to avoid most anime series 'cause of this reason).

I did cry at the end of Moulin Rouge too.

I've never cried in a movie (Except maybe being on the verge of tears during The Notebook).

Even when my at-the-time boyfriend was balling his eyes out in Les Mis, all I could think was, "This movie isn't even that miserable, why is everyone so sad?" It just didn't make sense. xD

That being said, it's the simple things in life that sometimes bring me to tears. One time, I was driving to school one morning and I stopped behind a car that had a 'Who rescued who?' paw-print car magnet on the back of their car and in that moment, that thought of how happy those pets must be, and how pets affect people's lives just brought me to tears. Yeah... the little things....

I don't cry often at all in my own life, but if I'm watching a movie and there's a huge war scene I cry at that, I just burst into tears. Just the concept of war and all the people left behind and what it takes away from each person, inside and out, and so on, that makes me cry. Not something sad like when a beautiful romance ends or someone dies, I just cry at the idea of war.

Never sad cried because of a movie or TV, that I can remember at least, maybe when I was little?

Do tend to get laughter tears quite often though.

Only movie that has made me cry was Marley And Me but I was home when it happened. I'd probably compose myself better in public but my god that ending was just heart breaking.

As mentioned by others, the last 10 minutes of so of Toy Story 3.

The end of Joy Luck Club, where she uses her dead mom's airline tickets to go to China to meet her two half sisters, who were expecting to finally reunite their mother after getting separated in the war.

The end of Homeward Bound, when the young dog and the cat make it home and the dad starts trying to comfort the kids about the old dog just not being healthy enough to have made it. Totally over the top now, but used to make me sob even up to my teens.

The closest I've been to tears recently was the end of a cop drama called End of Watch. For the first time in a long time, I felt a proper attachment to its characters, and that's so rare in film.

I cry when Draco dies, always! True story bro :)
Harry Potter or Dragonheart?

I always get a bit teary at the end of Dragonheart.

If I was to try listing all the films that have made me tear up we would all be here a very long time. Don't remember ever crying in a cinema though...

Up. The first 10 minutes are just heart breaking! I kept rubbing my eyes so no one would know then I realized literally every person in the theater was doing the same thing.

Saving Private Ryan: When the medic dies. I LOATHE Umpum!

Toy Story 3: The last bit, where they all think they are going to die, and when they finally get played with. Happy ending, but still sad!

The Hunger Games: I got misty eyed when Rue died because I thought of the book and that scene in literature is just simply beautiful. [sub] Too bad the next two books were rubbish[/sub]
