Anita and her trope war.
After listening to her a few times .
All I can say is this.
"OH MY GOD. WHO THE HELL CARES?!" - Peter Griffin.
In her videos she clearly states over, and over that media has little to no effect on the way people see things.
"We generally don't have a see monkey, and monkey do relationship with social forms of media." - Anita. (Didn't quote correctly. I know)
So Anita if you clearly state that sexism doesn't come from video games.
Why are you even doing this? What's the point?
Anita is also sexist against man.
As she claims the reason the men only save/or feel guilty/sorrow/etc about women is when they fail them do to masculinity instead of you know. Actual emotions?
"But if we dig a little deeper into the subject I argued that the true source of the pain stems from feelings of weakness/and or guilt over his failure to perform his socially prescribed patriarchal duty to protect his women and children."
OH YES GREAT ANITA! Me crying and feeling depressed about my loved one dying isn't from my own emotions but instead my duty!
Because that's in itself isn't sexism. Right?
Me being trapped literally 5 inches away from my loved who just got shot in the head isn't going to invoke emotions like guilt, and sorrow due to the fact I WAS JUST RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF HER AND COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. Nope! It's patriarchy! That's the reason!
Also I am tired of feminist and Anita taking things way out of fucking context and twisting them around.
"In fact these games usually frame the loss of the women as something that has been taken unjustly from the male hero."
Or the quote she used from Darkness 2.
"Jackie. Now I take from you."
Now let's think about it.
I belong to my girlfriend.
My girlfriend belongs to me.
She is mine.
And I am hers.
We belong together.
The sense of belonging isn't some male power fantasy is a feeling love not some type of sexism.
My girlfriend says all the time that "I'm hers."
In fact she probably shes "Your mine. c:" at least once a day.
Do I take this as sexism? Do I take this as her trying to control me? Do I take this as I am her property?
No. I fucking don't.
Generally if you take someone's girlfriend/wife/fiance away.
You're not taking just the physical being away but also the emotions that go along with it.
So yes that love does belong to x. You're taking away his companion in life. You're taking away his feelings of love and compassion for that person.
What is marriage again?
Marriage is a union of two people who generally become one symbolically.
I remember when I was little and went to my brother's wedding.
They had three candles.
2 were lit.
1 one wasn't.
They each picked up their lit candle and lit the single candle and the priest said something how now become one with each other.
Generally when you're in a relationship Anita you do some-what belong to that person. Male and Female.
Do you think your boyfriend would be happy with you having sex with other males?
And would you allow your boyfriend to have sex with other females?
Okay then. So there in some ways you do belong to each other.
/ranting.
