Pretty simple... doesn't have to be a gaming genre... it can be something like "games set in the future" or "games with a child protagonist" or "3D games"... whatever.

For me, I don't usually like racing games, but I absolutely love Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. There are three racing games I've loved in my time... and two of them have that exact title (1998 and 2010). The other is Mario Kart 64.

The Hot Pursuit games are just plain fun. They're the perfect blend of racing and destruction (in particular, the hot pursuit game mode)... able to be both tense and ridiculously enjoyable at the same time. Also, I love that it's not a "laps-based" racer. I much prefer driving across the world rather than going around in circles.

What about you? I'm sure most of us have a few games that could fit nicely into that sentence template.

I don't like racing games either, except for the FlatOut series. That's pure fun on a disc right there. I'm desperately hoping for a new game in the series, but it doesn't look like there will be one. :(

I'm not really a fan of racing games either.

Well, realistic racing games anyway.

I love stuff like Motorstorm and Burnout.

Don't like Racing Games > Liked Burnout Series: except the one without crash levels wtf...
Don't like Shooting Games > Liked Rage: Maybe I'm just weird when it comes to this generation of shooters...
Don't like Sandbox Games> Saints Row: For some reason it is just fun where others just aren't

I don't really like sports games, but I liked NBA Street Basketball 1 and 2.
Mainly because it doesnt take itself seriously while still being a decent basketball game.

I find FPS games (at least modern ones) to be incredibly boring and the bad ones outweigh the good ones, so I generally try to avoid them, but holy shit is Serious Sam good. It's just incredible.

I always hated JRPGs but I love Grandia II. The Story was so ridiculous and the characters we're the biggest idiots you can find, except for the bird, it was kinda ok.

Good choice sir! Those games are great. I think I heard that they are making a new FlatOut on Wii, but I think that was just rumours. The studio who make the series are working on the new Ridge Racer Unbounded right now. At first it may look like just a Burnout ripoff but it's actually really interesting. You can create your own tracks and upload and download them online. You put all these tracks together to make your own city. Sounds awesome to me.

OT: I don't usually like FPS games but I really loved The Darkness. That game holds a special place in my memory.

I don't like car games, but I love Interstate 76. And Driver. And Burnout and Flatout and Re-Volt and...ok, maybe that's a bad example.

I don't like RTSes, but Company of Heroes was really, really good.

I don't like Zombie games but Left 4 Dead hooked me completely.

I don't like RPGs, but Mount and Blade is the gravy.

I don't like war games set in boring modern times, but I couldn't put Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction down.

I wouldn't have thought I'd like super realistic military shooters, but then... Cold War Crisis... yeah.

I don't really like horror games (mostly because "horror" is taken to mean action with zombies), but I loved Silent Hill 2 and Amnesia.
