As in, I usually don't like racing games. Last racing game I got into was Need for Speed Underground. I couldn't even get into Mario Kart (gasp!). I just always found them boring. Especially the more realistic ones where no matter how fast you're going you still feel like you're going at a brisk 30-40mph (I guess a real sense of speed is hard to simulate in games).

But damned if Blur isn't one of the funnest games I've played in a long time. Strange that I like it considering I just said I couldn't get into Mario Kart and this is essentially the same game but with real cars. I played the demo to death and will probably end up getting the game soon if I can find it for super cheap. Such a shame it was overshadowed by the inferior Split/Second and that the developer went under not long after.

Hm. I usually don't like FPSes, but Team Fortress 2 is one of my favorite games to play. I'm sure some CoD/Halo/etc fans are rolling their eyes because "it's not a REAL shooter", but that's probably why I like it so much.
Also I don't really like RTSes or "city development" games, but I like Total War: Shogun 2 a ton. Not sure why.

I'm not really into tower defense games, but Plants vs. Zombies is hella fun and actually easy to get into.

TF2 is a shooter from wich a lot of "REAL" shooters can learn something....
TF2 is fun, not realistic nor top-of-the-line graphics. Just shameless fun.

Not really a genre but I rarely play multiplayer. The exception is Space Marine. I am still having a blast playing that multiplayer.

i hardly play RTS's, as they are just too competitive and are filled with elitist trolls, but i enjoyed the hell out of AoE and empire earth (the 2nd one especially)

i don't know what did it for me exactly, but i loved the mechanics/offense vs. defense style of the game.

I dont quite know what the genre would be. "recource collecting based city sim" would i guess be the closest thing to it. But i had a hell of a time with viva pinata back in the day.

I do not usually like generic FPS games that doesn't have anything to show, but I actually enjoyed Battlefield 3 to a degree.
I'm just wondering how you've played something that isn't out until the 25th...

Or are you just talking about the beta?

OT: I don't usually like JRPGs, but FFVI was one of the best games I've ever played.

I normally hate turn-based strategy, but I'll be damned to hell if I don't play Costume Quest again for the twelveth time this month.
