I feel like a failure

About two weeks ago I decided to stop shaving and grow a beard. My school had strict grooming policies, but since I was out I decied to do it. So here I am, two weeks in, and only managing a bit of fluff on my chin and upper lip. I asked my friend about it, and he said if ive only grown that much in two weeks, then thats proably about the extent of it. It made me feel like a failure, and completely ruined my awesome beard plans.

So when have you failed at something you were certain you could achieve?

At exactly that, growing a beard.

I wanted one of those massive, lumberjack-esque beards. The types of beards that make you look badass.

But no, all I get is some chin fuzz.
Weak...

That's all I could manage by the end of high school, but now several years later it doesn't take long to grow it out full. It's by no means a Zack Galifinakis beard, but it's respectable.

Each to his own I suppose.

I can never manage to beat a campaign in Left 4 Dead 2 on Expert difficulty with realism enabled.

One of my friends always gives up and that just destroys the rest of our morale so we all just give up then...

We always get so close too.
Is it Heavy Rain by any chance?

OP - That feels like an odd think to feel a failure about, but then I'll never be able to grow a beard so I dunno. Give it a few years man.

I'm getting better at growing a bread, even though younger people in my family are WAY better at it.

Give it time lad, no one stays hairless forever, unless you're Asian.

I failed at growing a beard too, so don't worry. You're not alone. Then again, I'm kind of physical unable to grow a beard.

I've had about 7 interviews in the past month and they've all turned me down.
I've brought this thread to a bit of a serious level :p

Give it a couple of years, it takes some men a lot longer to be able to grow 'em. Lets just say I'm glad I can manage a decent one, I feel pretty hideous without one. I have serious hang ups with shaving, but I don't like it too long either. Luckily I recently got a beard trimmer, so no one will see my chin again.

I can't do a Neil Fallon by any means, but I prefer a Gordon freeman-esque trim beard anyway, and I've that right down.

A school shouldn't be able to make you trim your beard too much.

What is the policy persey? Let your beard grow for 3 weeks, then shave. The more often you let your beard grow before shaving it, the faster it tends to come back. I used to get stuble in about a week and a half, not it's there every two days

I have the opposite problem. I keep forgetting to shave and it's getting quite irritating. Still, maybe this is my opportunity to change up my look.

My girlfriend went away for 8 weeks and I grew a beard exactly like what you wanted. We nearly broke up. Cost me a weeks sex and like 8 razors. It's overrated. Plus she said it made me look homeless :(

OT: I guess mine would be keeping the beard then! Either that or when I tried to learn the entire song of hangar 18 by Megadeth about a year ago.

Still trying....god I have no motivation D;

Oh boy.
Ignoring all the obvious mopey things because I do not feel like going into them, I tried about the same thing you did.

I cannot grow any visible hair on my cheeks and neckbeards are ridiculous so I decided to grow a goatee/moustache combo thing.
I was feeling pretty good about it. I could see it. It wasn't too lopsided. The moustache was insubstantial and I had been accused of wielding a "knacker 'tache" a few times, but you could see what I was going for and it actually framed my face pretty well.

Then I went and saw a friend in England and she made a comment.

I shaved it off. And wept.

I'm lucky... beard growing isn't hard for me.

The only thing that makes me feel like a failure is my inability to find a damn job. I've been searching for almost three months, but the job market here is crappy. I'm about to break down and apply to Wal-Mart, because they're desparate for workers.

Im in the same situation kinda. I have a job, but its part time (they dont need fulltime) and I dont like it. They call me in a lot so i manage about 25 hours/week, but its all night stuff. Id like to work during the day. So im looking for a new job, but I keep getting rejected. There always seems to be someone with more experiance
