I finally watched the film Stand By Me (and loved it, I might add) and just before I turned it off I noticed the name of the main 12 year old kid in the credits... Wil Wheaton. I thought to myself, naw, it can't possibly be who I'm thinking of, it can't possibly be the guy who did two D&D game podcasts besides the Penny Arcade guys.
But my god, it is. Just looked it up on Wiki, and it's the same guy. I've been listening to this guy for years and after watching that... wow...

I did not see that coming.
Total mindfuck guys. Trippin balls.

That's not as big of a mindfuck as looking at the Hubble Ultra Deep Field and realizing that all those galaxies take up (well, took up, they're probably long gone by now) a slice of sky the size of a pinhead held at arm's length.

I think he's more well known as Wesley "Go die in a pit, you annoying *****" Crusher.
But yeah Wheaton's a pretty well rounded guy in terms of roles.

I particularly like him starring as himself in Big Bang Theory.

Wow, I was totally expecting another topic about "I watched X movie for the first time and the spoilerTWIST/spoiler was so incredible I have to watch it 50 more times before I can totally understand. DId you have a similar experience?"
Kind of glad it isn't, but personally, I haven't had a mindfuck like that except the fact that the dude who played Leon in that one movie(the one where he was a hitman and was training the little girl) then did Couples Retreat really bothers me.

A mind-fuck thread, eh?

Well, another Escapist recently pointed this out to me:

Hah, it's probably not a big deal to anyone who knows him, but to me 'Stand by Me', that classic old movie everyone talks about, and the silly geek things I listen to when bored just seem... miles apart. Perhaps the parrot was right, maybe it is a small world after all.

The guy who voiced Al-Mualim in Assassin's Creed is the guy who voiced Splinter in the original Teenage Mutant (Hero/Ninja) Turtles animated series.

That blew my mind for a while.

Why does everyone have problems with Hwil Hwheaton? Hwil Hwheaton is a very nice guy.

Also, Star Trek was awesome. Gene Roddenberry was awesome. I find it disturbing that Wesley was Gene's middle name.

I counter your mindfuck with an equivalent mindfuck. Vin Diesel, the character "Dom" in the Fast and Furious movies, is a hardcore D&D nerd.

But really, these kinds of things are based on stereotypes of what people THINK other people should be. I think that part is the funniest.

Of course, they made up for that with this:

You want a mind fuck? I'm going to kill your childhood:

Yeah, once you see that you realise just how ridiculously huge the universe is.

Heh... I love that he sometimes guest stars as the hacker/thief 'Chaos' on Leverage. The first time I saw him I literally said aloud, "You've gotta be sh*ttin' me," much to the chagrin of my wife.
(the kids were both sitting right there, and my 2-year-old son immediately started mimicking me: "yeh guh'uh be shi'in me... yeh guh'uh be shi'in me... yeh guh'uh be shi'in me...")

When I saw this post, I thought about it and thought "That fucking fits!" then I looked it up on Wikipedia to confirm.

How the fuck did I not notice that? (Even though I first saw the movie when I was like 7. It's one of my favorites)

To be fair I've never watched Star Trek in my life. All I know is that Captain Piccard = Uriel Septim.
