I think this is just more of a rant about dead space 2 really not a massive fan i got on the sole basis that it was more dead space and more lore to consume but when i played i just hated everything about, being its not even pretending to be scary anymore which is disappointing, second is the character of Issac hes just annoying everything he says just makes me wanna pull my teeth out, why is it hes gone from just an every man engineer to the most competent man on the sprawl speaking of which the sprawl a mining colony they said back in development like a gold mine settlement like back in the 1800's, so i was super stoked cos i really liked how they explained the science behind deep space mining so i thought more of that's gonna be awesome but what do we get fucking space religion why do i want that, and i understand that its all to do with the marker cos yeah that's no longer the omnipotent obelisk that it used to be apparently anyone can just make one these days, all and all i just wanted more of the same and i really lked the deep space mining aspect and i wish they went back to it but i doubt it so the best thing to come out of all of this is the fact i got to play extraction on the disc which i must say is way better much more memorable characters and i actually cared about them poor McNeil sniff sniff

First there was Alien, then there was Aliens. Kind of the same thing here, only Dead Space didn't pull it off quite as well and fell into a vat of shlocky tropes on the way. The perils of applying pressure to be creative on an uninspired development team.

Evil God, man. Punctuation, please.

In the first game there was just as much 'space religion', because it has been wrapped up in the plot from the very beginning.
In the second game, you actually see Isaac do some engineering, because he doesn't actually do any such engineering in the first game.
Making it scary as the first one? Maybe not quite, but think of it as the Aliens film - the best horror comes from the unknown, and the unknown had been mostly filled in. As a consequence, it was actionised slightly to compensate for that.

Oh shit sorry about the punctuation, i know that unitologist where always prominent in the plot but i don't know i just wanted More mining that's it really for no other reason than it was interesting, As for the horror i completely agree with you which begs the question if it was no longer gonna be scary to see the same necromorphs screaming for attention than why was it even made, i will give them this though i did enjoy the stalkers and how they where introduced, i just wish everything else just wasn't so blatant in comparison, like the whole Nicole apparition thing was run into the ground and just annoying along with the completely stupid space dementia will kill you unless you get the cure.
