That (above) is a popular belief amongst most Christians, well, if God wouldn't give you anything you couldn't handle, then why would you need Him at all?

Well I was always thinking about those people who say "I'm having a hard time right now, but it's okay, because I know God wouldn't give me any more than I can handle"....well, then why do you need God at all?
1) I have never once heard anyone say that.

2) I still have no idea what you're talking about.

We would need God's help, since he takes care of the stuff we can't handle. Therefore there is a hole in your logic.

Because we are so lazy we need god's help with stuff we can do on our own. Getting into a good university your gonna pray to god when you should have been praying to the textbook god.

And deleted the rest because I was getting a little anti religion.

I got my own little paradox, it comes with the theory of infinate parallel universes where every possibility is played out.

Surely then there is a parallel universe that doesn't have any parallel universes?

The answer is that there's a difference in how much we can handle and how much we "think" we can handle.

Think one really isn't a paradox, but why do banks loan money to those that already have it

Like what? Making sure everything's working correctly and that the physics is still on?

it's meant to be a logical paradox similar to "can an allmighty god create a rock so heavy he himself can not lift it anymore?"

if yes he's not allmighty, if no...he's not either^^

though i don't really see the sense in thise one here. maybe if the OP could elaborate..

You should add in the point that there is a possibility God doesn't exist, and using the word "logic" synonymously with the word "God" has made me laugh because I'm a horrible person.

Though sagacious might just be making a point, so I'll just be quiet.

God doesn't give us any more than we can handle with his help. This includes things we could have handled ourselves, and things we couldn't have handled ourselves.

"can an allmighty god create a rock so heavy he himself can not lift it anymore?"
No, because no such rock is possible. God can't create a logical impossibility - he couldn't make a square circle, either.

Anything involving an invisible wish granting wizard in the sky is already confusing enough without paradoxes.
