I have been into RPG's lately and im starting to run out of games that i should play, i have played and completed final fantasy 7, 10, x-2, i have played but not completed final fantasy 12,and crisis core i would get final fantasy 8 but theirs none in stock at the gamestop i go to, i have played fallout 3, oblivion, the star oceans, i even tried phantasy star universe, ive played mass effect and im probably forgetting some games but thats the gist of it i need some ideas on RPG games for the ps3, wii, psp, or ps2, my xbox is busted so that is out of the question, the only games i might have in mind r wild arms 1 and 2 on the psn, please give me some ideas n tell me wether or not the wild arms games are good

Here you go!

Oh wait, you need the other kind? Hmm... You've played almost all that I have played so I can't really give a good suggestion. Sorry.

I would reccomend: Lost Odyssey, Last Remnent, Persona 4...maybe Too Human if you find it cheap, but those games will tide you over until we get some new rpg's. Oh and I hear tales of Vespira (I spelt it wrong but I forgot what it's called) is supposed to be good.

If you have a gameboy or DS(that still can play gameboy games) I would recommend Golden Sun. If for console, Fable.

Play the Kingdom Hearts series, and Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King.

Oh, and if you want some older WRPGs, I think you can get Daggerfall for free legally now, so that's always worth a download.

Also, there's loads of GBA RPGs you could pick up that are worth a play, like Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Fire Emblem series, Golden Sun and [/i]Golden Sun 2[/i] and most of the early Final Fantasy games are available for the GBA as well.

Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 or IV on the DS. (Though, really, any Dragon Quest will do) or Persona 4 for the PS2.

I would recommend Persona 3 & 4, Soul Nomad and the World Eaters, any Disgaea game, Rogue Galaxy, Xenogears, and the Tales Series.

Damn, beat me to the punch! meh, it was the obvious pun...

If you want an RPG, why not try trine? I've heard lots of good things. I can't help you with JRPGs though.

You wanna JRPG? I usually recommend Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, but it's expensive and somewhat niche. How about Valkyrie Profile 2? (Haven't played 1, some people say it's a better game, but 2 is pretty sweet IMO). Tales of Symphonia / Tales of the Abyss are pretty good. The Persona series has enjoyed some popularity recently, but personally, I'd recommend Persona 2 (PS1) over 3 (which made the series popular) or 4.

Western RPGs are arguably better in a lotta respects: try Baldur's Gate 1 or 2, Planescape: Torment, Fallout 2 or 3, KOTOR 1 or 2, or some other games along similar lines which I'm weirdly forgetting about right now.

Don't bother hunting down FF8 unless you're obsessed with playing every FF out there. It's kinda almost-universally despised as the worst of 'em. Maybe. Anyway, I hated it.

Try Final Fantasy 9!

One of the best (and underrated) FF games, it's got a brilliant storyline, much better graphics than FF7 and the additional bonus of being set in a more medieval - style world, with ancient castles and lush, green forests which, after the steampunk wastelands of FF7, is sure to feel like a breath of fresh air!

I could also recommend the original Grandia, my all - time favourite game of any category, but it has some compatibility issues and will occasionally freeze when played on a PS2.

If you can live with this, however, you're in for a rare treat. Grandia is a HUGE game, spread across 2 discs and takes about as long to complete as most Final Fantasy games. The storyline never gets boring, the world is richly varied and manages to evoke a genuine feeling of exploration, the characters are some of the most likeable I've seen - it's actually worth getting a PS1 just to be able to play Grandia uninterrupted!

Both games should be readily available on eBay.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and nohorsetown is right - FF8 sucks!

Definitely play the first Disgaea. If you see a copy of Disgaea 2 though, find the nearest sledge hammer and kill it. KILL KILL KILL!

P.S. it may help if you say what RPGs you've enjoyed most in the past.

Seconded. Both are great and often overlooked games.
