I need help with a computer problem.

(I use Windows 7)
Last night my computer started playing up, I would copy a file some where and the icon wouldn't show up until i left the folder and then went back in. I tried to fix this by restarted but my computer got stuck at the Shutting Down screen so i hit the reset button and the computer got stuck on the Windows 7 loading screen. I had to run the system repair thing that pops up when windows doesn't load to fix it but I'm still getting the problem. I had hoped some one knew how to fix this without having to format. (I only want to format if i really need to)

Try booting directly from the harddrive.

When the computer is first starting up press f8 a menu should pop up giving you different boot options. Copy whatever essential file you have to an external harddrive. Other than that I don't really know what's going on and would probably try another system restore and failing that try and boot the system up with the win 7 installer disc and try a repair and failing that reformat.

Ar you able to access "safemode" (it's what aPod said - the F8 key trick) ?
