I need help with naming an intriguing new subgenre...

Recently, I've noticed a lot of games that seem to fall in the same category, and most of them are shallow ripoffs of Doom. Anyway, the aforementioned games generally involve shooting things, and to aid with immersion, it's presented as if you're looking through the eyes of your character- 'first-person', if you will. So, what name do you think should be bestowed on these games, and do you have any additional thoughts on the matter?
