Ok, so its my senior year of high school and I have AP English, AP Calculus, and AP government so I will have a LOT of homework this year. So I need the help of my fellow Escapists. I always listen to music when I do homework and I wanted to know what bands/albums/songs are good for listening to when doing homework.

Dinosaur Jr.
Judas Priest
The Offspring
A Perfect Circle
Stratovarius
Dream Theatre
Audioslave

Make a way to listen to all of them at once!

This thread is full of helpful advice for study music [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.140329#3149243]
Personally I find Trance music best for homework for reasons stated in the other thread, or to quote me:

I'd say Classical or Trance. I listen to Trance when I work, its easy to tune out, but still keeps you on that beat and flow to help you work.

Creedence Clearwater Revival, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and The Doors. This is all you will ever need. Ever.
I hate to disagree, but I disagree. (I think if I ended that sentence with "I do." there would be some sort of subject verb agreement problem. Am I correct?)

I generally go for instrumental jazz music for doing homework, primarily Weather Report (Heavy Weather), John Coltrane, and occasionally Charlie Parker and Jaco Pastorius. Oh, and also the Turnabout Jazz Soul album.

Eh...
Ok, good point.
But, still. They're damn good bands.

As my profile name and avatar suggest, I know metal, old 70's & 80's metal anyway. My name is in fact a Dio reference.

I would suggest some lighter music for calculus, like Winger, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Ratt and the more ballady, hair metal bands for math so it won't impair your focus.

For government and english, I would take the late 70's 'New Wave Of British Heavy Metal' bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon, and Judas Priest, or power metal/shock rock bands bands like Running Wild, Grim Reaper, Helloween or W.A.S.P. You can also go with more straight up acts like Ozzy, Dio, and the like. These bands are better for this because their lyrics often deal with government themes, so if you listen to the words, you can even learn things. Iron Maiden, for one, is like a heavy metal history book.

The Age Of Rocket are an incredibly good band, orchestral electronic so you may not like them but if you're into that sort of thing, you will find that this is the sort of thing that you'll like.

When doing work I listen to the following bands/albums.
Eluveitie - Slania

Maximum the Hormone - Buiiki Kaesu

two great albums for working to, redid my game room, drywall and all, listening to them.
