There's a giant block on my writing desk that i can't seem to move.
Any type any genre, so many possible choices and i can't seem to form a single cohesive idea.
Any help over here?

...find a new desk?

Seriously though, if you do not even have a semi-cohesive idea for a game, why do you want to make one? To expand your portfolio? Shits and giggles? Or is it just the "cool" thing to do?

Without any more information, there's not much I can give you. What resources do you have at your disposal? Are you working with anyone? What experience do you have?

So there's no spark whatsoever? No idea or direction you want to pursue? Not even a theme?

My advice at this point is write down what appeals to you, figure out what you *can* do, then go from there.

As a webdesigner, i also have that problem a lot :D

You could make a list of every possible genre and themes. Then throw a few dice and write down what you think of the combination. If you like it, start brainstorming from there.
