i know i'm not the only one, who here used to have a sega (anything) and when it died, went to playstation? i know a lot of people did, anyone who did, try to remember the good ol' days with your sega, i myself had a genesis, but not a cd or the 32x, just plain genesis, and i loved the thing, my favorite games were the one with chester the cheetah, and a ninja one that i forget the name of, im pretty sure it wasnt ninja gaiden, anyone else have a few favorite games they would like to mention, if so, post away

Yeah, I've been building a Gen collection - just because the titles are so cheap. So far I have:

- Ecco the Dolphin
- Forgotten Worlds
- The Lost Vikings
- Sonic the Hedhehog 2
- Spider-Man
- Zero Tolerance
- Rocket Knight Adventures
- Eternal Champions
- Mortal Kombat
- F-15 Strike Eagle
- Ranger X
- X-Men
- Alex Kidd
- Jurassic Park
- Genesis 6-Pak:
[Sonic the Hedgehog]
[Golden Axe]
[Streets of Rage]
[Revenge of Shinobi]
[Columns]
[Super Hang-On]

IMO, the Gen is quite underrated - the SNES may have been better, but just saying that doesn't do justice to all the great titles that were released on it. Ecco the Dolphin, for example, kicks ass, and I can comfortably say the same of Rocket Knight Adventures and Golden Axe.

I was always of the opinion that overall the Megadrive/Genesis had a superior software library to the SNES anyway. I still bust mine out on occasion. I love me a bit of Sonic. I also managed to get my hands on a Mega-CD a couple years ago, and can so far so that the only worthwhile game you can get on it that you can't find somewhere else is Sonic CD. And that isn't as good as Sonic 2 regardless of what some people might say ;)

Some love must go to the Saturn and the Dreamcast too. Both very underated consoles that had only just started to really peak when they died, espescially the Saturn. If only SEGA hadn't made the thing so damned difficult to develop for and developers had gotten their heads around the dual processing dealie it had going then I reckon SEGA would have had more of a chance at attracting more games and thus faring better in the console market.

Ahaha, I bought a sega megadrive handheld console the other day for £30. Then I left it on in my bag and now the batteries are dead.

Is great though, you should invest :L

If that's the Nomad then you lucky lucky person. Those things are rare and can cost upwards of a £100, mine cost me £110. If its a Gamegear then nevermind.

I loved my Sega Megadrive... It was my first console really. Oh the hours I spent playing Sonic, Street Fighter and Paperboy. But then the Playstation came along and I moved on to Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Croc and Gex. Ah good times.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic 3
Sonic & Knuckles
Comix Zone
Altered Beast
Empire of Steel - A 2D shooter, pretty damn good.
Rocket Knight Adventures - Like Sonic but with a jet-pack.

My brother bought a Megadrive and Sonic 1 & 2 at a car boot for about a tenner years ago, it was our first console and we loved it, and still love it. :)

Oh the joy I used to have with my megadrive... I've still got it kicking about somewhere, just need to find it again. My favourites include:

Alien Soldier
Gunstar Heroes
Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles
Dynamite Headdy
Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Ranger X
Shining Force 2
Comix Zone
Zombies Ate My Neighbours
Mazin Wars (Fantastic, virtually unknown beat-em-up which switched to Street Fighter style for boss battles.)
Super Fantasy Zone
Wonder Boy In Monster World (Platformer meets RPG. Love it.)
Micro Machines V2...

I'm sure there's others but these are the ones that really stick out for me.

My Sega Megadrive/Genesis was my first true love. I had one when I was 3 and by the time the Playstation came out I had 2 cupboards full of cartridges.
Road Rash, Streets of Rage, Double Dragon and Shinobi were my personal favourites.

Oh dear, I suddenly feel nostalgic..

I have a dreamcast, and still play it from time to time. Stuff like Hydro Thunder, Crazy Taxi and Jet Grind Radio never gets old.

I still have my Genesis, and GameGear, looking back man I loved those things. Looking at them now, I'm certain I would get stopped at an airport if I tried to bring my GameGear, mostly because when attached to the AC adapter it could be used as a lethal medieval flail...

Well a lot of Sega consoles sorta sucked, (cept the Genesis and Dreamcast. Those kicked ass) and the playstation and SNES had larger game libraries. However, the Dreamcast had House of the Dead, and the Genesis just plain was fun, but I still pop my old Dreamcast out every once in a while when I don't want to go to my local arcade to blast zombies and waste quarters.
