I wanna go back in time

no, not like time travel or anything. I want to relive some of the great games i played on PC back in the 90's. I was a big fan of RTS's and war games back then (still am but mostly on consoles now).

So, since i cant remember most of what i had back then, i need suggestions.

what were some of your favorite RTS/war games back in the day (mid-late 90's)?

I'm not sure if they were in the nineties but I loved the old C&C games; very fun in my opinion. Other than that RTS games have never really pulled me apart from Total War and Age of Empires.

Dune II: Battle for Arrakis on Sega Mega Drive.
First and only RTS that I played from start to finish all the way through with each of the races.

No other RTS really appealed to me after that, and I tried MANY! There was just something about that game that had me hooked. Maybe it was the simplicity of it and the fact that I was a pre-teen back then.

I would love to play it again. Thanks for making me think of that game after so long.

Time to fire up the emulator!

when i said i moved to consoles, i didnt necessarily mean i brought my RTS habit with me. War games (Modern Warfare 2, Medal of Honor, etc.) yes; RTS, not so much.

Command and Conquer 3
Civilization Revolution
Red Alert 3
Tom Clancys End War.
Shall I continue?

All of which were also available on PC, I believe?

Anyway, for RTS, Age of Empires as has been mentioned. Command and Conquer isn't a bad bet either.
