Hello again fellow Escapists.

Rather than dance around the issue for a bit I'm going to just get to the point.
I want to import the most recent game in the Super Robot Wars series, but I have no idea how importing actually works, and the last time I tried I was informed that the place I tried to import from doesn't deliver to Canada, which is odd since I was trying to grab it through Amazon. Region locking isn't an issue, as this is a PS3 game.

I bring this up because while looking around Youtube recently I came across footage from a DLC pack for the game that rekindled my interest, mainly because
Ordinarily when this thing pops up in this series it's the final boss, but in this game you get to control it!

Anyway before I derail my own thread, I'm curious as to what is actually involved in the importing process as I've never done it before.
Is it the same as ordering anything else, except it's coming from another country?
Do I need to be aware of any specific rules or laws that apply only to things coming from literally the other side of the planet? (this I kinda doubt, it's a video game, not flora or fauna)
Will playing a, in my case, Japan only game cause problems on my NA system, like conflicts in the code? (I'm playing it safe by asking since the PS3 has no region lock)

I'm probably missing more than a few questions, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Oh, In case anybody was going to ask I don't actually speak or read Japanese myself, thankfully this particular series isn't hard to figure out in terms of gameplay since it's a turn based strategy game and is mostly handled via simple menus.

*sighs* I wish they'd release this in english, but short of my winning the lottery and making arrangements with the publisher to cover the localization costs myself I don't see that happening.

Thank you for your time everybody, See you all the next time I come out from lurking in the shadows to post.

After putting your order through the game should then just be delivered to either your house in the mail or to some other place where you can pick it up. In my experience, importing games was as simple as paying for the game online and then waiting a week or two for it to arrive (which they always have).

As for compatibility, you should have no problems playing the game on an NA PS3 system. However, if you intend to purchase DLC for the game then you'll have to create a Japanese PSN account to access it. There are plenty of tutorials online that can show you how to create an account for different regions, it's easy.

However, then there's the issue of actually buying the DLC. If it's free then there's no problem, but if not then you'll need to buy a Japanese PSN card (loaded with yen) to buy stuff on the JP store. I'm not sure if credit cards would work.
