So I just beat Mass Effect 3 and not gonna lie I really wasn't impressed. Which is kinda disappointing because I've been anticipating this game for months. I read a variety of reviews and most of them fell in a range between 9's and 10's or 5's (out of 5). So I found it interesting that the people who get paid to play games and are used to playing dozens more than I do on a monthly basis found this game so great. I'm going to list some of my complaints and I want to see if any of you agree with me.
1. Why am I doing this again?
I ran into SO many missions where I could not care less what I was doing. Either the objective was uninteresting or I was working for some bland and boring character who I had not met until 5 minutes prior and he/she/it needed a favor. Not ok. Remember breaking Jack out of a space prison? Stopping Thanes son from murdering a politician? Missions like that made me give a damn because they were interesting and had focus.
2. Um, I don't want to work with these guys.
For some reason bio ware decided to limit my crew to about 5 or 6 characters after giving me 12 in the second one. Now I understand the purpose of having so many characters in ME2 was because you were gathering talent for the suicide mission. So why is it when it comes down to The final fight for earth I have to choose between Garrus, Tali, Liara, Kaiden/Ashely, and captain mc buffpants? You know you I wanted to fight with? A krogan. or a deranged biotic. Or one of the two bad ass asaris i met in the last game. I understand that the crew was narrowed down to give the fans who loved their characters in the first game come back for the last round. But I wish I could have been given an option.
3. Recruiting forces isn't nearly as fun as it sounded.
This one is largely self explanatory.
So that's how I feel. Whether you agree or not is up to you. But please don't flame me for this. If you enjoyed the game then great. I wish I could have been in your shoes. Everyone else? Do you feel I'm in the right? Do you agree with what I said?
