Here's the deal, ya know the survival element games?

Imagine if it's like that but with a car. You're on a mega road trip. Each time, it's generated.

You're driving a shitty ass fucking car that constantly breaks down, that you gotta tinker with and keep running.

If you run out of gas? Better grab your gas can, cause your walking to the fucking gas station then walking back son.

It just came out, so it's on Steam's Unfinished Games bullshit program, whatever the hell they called it. I bought it cause I have had fond memories playing Minecraft and I love driving games, and I tell you I love this shit. This is going to be one of those games Yahtzee loves, where you just throw a podcast on and play ************.

The thing I like best is that it has some Paper's Please elements, where you can try to outsmart local governments by smuggling in goods, including to the overall style and tone.

If nothing else, at least look at the store page. This game has great potential.

Interesting... I'll have to wait a while since I'm saving up for a PS4, but I'll definitely keep an eye on this.

Saw it a couple days ago. Looks really neat; I dig the art-style, and the atmosphere looks pretty top-notch. Will probably pick it up once it leaves greenlight.

Just looked at it's page, and I got to say... I'm gonna need a better pitch for this one. Not really seeing a good explanation of the gameplay (Which I know is hard, but it's necessary for these 'unconventional' games), and for a game that's supposed to be, at least a little, about driving through an environment, it looks painfully dull and almost literally colorless.

Glad you're having fun though.

I'll take a look at it. I usually avoid Greenlight games unless the developer is good about acknowledging issues and getting patches out (not saying this isn't the case for this one).

Sounds like almost everything I don't like about modern gaming rolled into one game. And little else. And in Early Access as well?

I'll wait for the inevitable "simulator" version.

I'm sure the former Eastern Bloc is suitably apocalyptic and suffering from a scarcity of vital supplies, but I prefer my survival games to have more fearsome hazards then old East Germans (if such a thing exists). The need to maintain a vehicle looks interesting, but that's why I've got The Final Station on my wishlist: keep a train going during the latest zombie outbreak.

I think it's worth a look. It's not quite clear what the gameplay really constitutes, from watching the video, but I like Minecraft, I like driving games, and I found Papers, Please a good laugh. What I'm not sure of is how it all comes together, and what you're spending most of your time doing.

If it's fixing cars up, well, when I get the gear head bug I just play Car Mechanic Simulator 2015. If it's driving or rallying to be done, well there's everything there from GTA to DiRT Rally to Euro Truck Simulator. So I'll wait for a bit more review/gameplay type info and footage to come out. Definitely will follow it though, if the fundamental driving physics are down (if that's what you spend most of your time doing), then I'm all for it.

Sorry, but I am the kind of guy I want see cars getting destroyed really bad like in Burnout for example.
However I undertand the appeal of "realistic" Theme some games offer you.
One of my favourite games is Receiver, which the unique element of this game is to respect the gun you are using as a real one: You must make sure not waste a whole magazine and use all the bullets, put new bullets inside the magazine if they are empty, remove the safety before shoot, then be prepare to fix your gun if a bullet jam it, etc. Real good game for a small price. 9-10. Awesome.

I like your posts because I imagine The Dude's voice sayin' it all casual and chill.

I might have to look at this game. I adore survival shit.

Sorry duder but my shitty ass computer probably won't run it. The concept is top-notch though and it's going right on my radar. Once I'm able to afford a half-way decent computer...it'll likely be at some point in the future where this game is out of early access and sold during most sales for less than a value-menu item.

It comes down to, getting the car ready for the trip.

Drive for 15 minutes.

Pull into the gas station. Fill up car with gas. Buy and use a repair kit if needed

Drive.

See boxes on the side of the road, pull over. Open boxes, it's wine. Shove as many bottles as you can into the trunk.

Gas station, sell wine. Replace air filter. Your tires are warn out. You can only afford to replace one tire. Buy gas.

Arrive at town. Get motel room. Sleep.

Wake up, get back driving. Cross border.

Find abandoned car on side of road. Pull over. Strip for parts.

Thanks for the breakdown. Like, some new shit has come to light, man!

Seriously though, that does sound interesting, in like a "just keep that thing running as long as you can" kinda way. Reminds of those survival-adventure, roguelike games where you have a team of people you're trying to keep alive to the end, but instead of people, it's parts of your car, which are all varying in priority to the end of the journey.

I've got it on the Wishlist and Follow list right now, might update this thread if I end up getting it soon. Oh, and what do you use to control? KB+mouse or joypad?

Keyboard and Mouse. Joypad support will come later. So far the developer has been pretty good about getting patches out, but it legit just came out.

It's actually pretty buggy in places, so you might be better off waiting.

Can you murder hitchhikers and hide their bodies in the trunk of your car?
If it has this feature then I'm sold. Especially if I can try to explain it away to the local police.

"So THATS what the banging sound I was hearing was"

"Its only a doll, no need to look closer officer"

"The car wont run on anything less then FRESH human blood"
