My sinuses are stuffed up to the max and I can't smell or taste a single thing. I've not got a bad cough I've accepted that I'm not going to be enjoying any turkey today, but I have hopes that I can chow down on delicious leftovers in the coming days if I can get this cleared up.

I've tried quite a few remedies (including chewing on garlic, not fun...), but swigging Tabasco sauce only seems to provide a temporary cure and everything else does nothing. I'm getting plenty of rest and keeping my fluids up, but could the wise and all-powerful escapists recommend me any personal remedies that have worked for them in the past?

Anything, I'm desperate here!

EDIT:Forgot to mention I've not have sinus problems in the past, so it's not a chronic thing if that helps.

Try a hot shower to steam it out. OR get some Vick's nasty smelling cream. That should clear it up, hopefully

Yeah, (and I'm not kidding here) Shove that up your nose and take a nice wiff. It works fine for me

get a nasal spray like mucinex, something with oxymetazoline hydrochloride in it. Provided there's a store open somewhere near you that is.

I'm English, and thus don't celebrate Thanksgiving.
Psh. Anyone can celebrate. All it requires is
A) Family and/or friends
B) Far too much food
C) Someone else's house which you can leave right after eating your fill

C is not optional, but it is far easier.

Huzzar for our pathetic little island!

OT, I'd give up. Try having a lovely meal later onwards, even if it isn't Thanksgiving.

I take codral cold and flu tablets when I have stuffy sinuses. Or those zyrtec? hayfever pills. Seems to clear me up a little.

I get sinusitis really bad sometimes though.

I hope you get to enjoy your turkey :(

One of my friends got his wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and can't eat solid food.

So it could be worse.

Try using a Nasaflo Neti-Pot, I use one every night and my sinuses have never felt better.

You can probably find one at a local pharmacy.

We apparently "give thanks to god" and then commit a mortal sin. (Gluttony)

Yes, this holiday defines us as americans.

I took a bite out of one of these Naga Jolokia chillies, it made me cry but it cleared my sinuses perfectly.

Try and find one.
