Well all of have you have thought of a videogame or a storyline based on a game, so to all of you wandering to make an announcement, here it is. (Sorry if their is a similar thread, but its always great to renew).
So here's my idea:
You awake in a dimly lit room to an officer of a military compound which uses criminals to do labor for mining crystals. These crystals have energy in them which can power the world objects everywhere. So you were arrested for unknown reasons. The storyline can arc off in 3 directions: 1.Serving your time and helping the government (Good). 2.Leaving the compound and running free (Neutral). 3.Joining a criminal gang in which you can escape with them (Evil).
In this world you can build bases anywhere, as long as you bought the area or took it over, in either or case something will happen because of it. Also you use the previously described, crystals are for upgrading and building buildings and vehicles.
So in other words this is like a Minecraft (building/resource) and World of Warcraft (For Multiplayer and giant worlds).
So what do you have? An epic game series? A steam game? Nothing? Post it!

Two of such ideas have kind of come true:

An RTS with LOTR creatures and characters (LOTR: Battle for Middle-Earth (II))

A strategic partly turn-based shooter game in 3D. Like CS:S, but with controlling the whole team. (Frozen Synapse seems to come close, I've only tried it a bit and it's 2D, but anywho)

An open world Zombie apocalypse survival game.
You're a Russian soldier during WW2, you've pushed the Germans out of Russia and are on the offence. The difference is the game is set in an alternate reality where the German "Wunderwaffe" was a success and reanimated the dead with the side effect of anything the infected bit would also become a zombie. The Germans unleash the weapon on Russia and the rest of the world.
Your character is a WW1 vet in Stalingrad. The tutorial would be you and several other soldiers trying to protect a section of the city from the zombies where they're eventually over run and you're separated from your group.
It'd be a survival game where you'd have to break into houses and stores to look for food and water (or grab a rifle and go into the wilds and do some hunting), fortify buildings to use as strongholds, secure a stable form of power, find gas for your car, interact with other survivors, try and contact the rest of the world for help or search for the mad scientist Mikhail Kalashnikov and take his own "wonder weapon" for yourself.
Ideally there'd be pros and cons for all things, wearing light clothing would make you faster and harder to grab but getting caught would screw you over, wearing heavy clothing would make you slower but something like a thick coat would allow you to carry more, make you less susceptible to the cold weather and if you get grabbed you could just chuck the coat (at the expense of some items you were carrying). Rifles would be more accurate and powerful but would weigh you down, make more noise (thus attracting more zombies) and be highly impractical in cramped spaces, all that sort of stuff.

Strategic turn-based shooter.

See: Valkyria Chronicles
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyria_Chronicles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4BW-Ki9d5Y - Gameplay video.

It's a partly (it uses turns but also utilizes some real time elements) turn based shooter that requires strategy in a 3D environment.

No idea if you enjoy JRPGs that much if at all but, the gameplay fits that description exactly. It's also known as one of the better JRPGs this generation. It's also fairly different to the standard JRPG. Just check out the video at least.

Hope you have a PS3 though since it's an exclusive.

Never had a console. Thank you for the comprehensive tip anywho; it seems interesting. I'll get it if I, for some odd reason, will get PS3 some day.

I've had this thought turning over in the back of my head of making a Jack The Ripper game. I reckon it would make a pretty awesome stealth game. Mostly stalking the streets of London, killing hookers, evading the police. Could maybe even bring in the occult things. After all, he stole organs. Little satanic.

A Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game that is much like Metroid Prime 3, with characters, talking pokemon, and even a little blood.

I have a script written up for it.

A space travel game where you can build your own empire, trade with other races and engage in combat not only in space (like the X series) but on the surface of planets as well.

It would have to be ever-expanding so I would reccommend some sort of online connection that keeps updating it by adding new planets races etc.

There's a game that Bethesda published a while ago called Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. I've heard really mixed opinions (some say it's great, others not so much) but it fits the description (Haven't played it myself) somewhat.

Not really. Dark Corners of the Earth is probably closest to Condemned, or that King Kong game they made a while back. You play a detective, but there isn't really any detective work or anything like that. Its pretty much an FPS with a light exploration focus and some non-standard inventory and health stuff. And a pretty cool sanity effect. Its not a bad game, but its really clunky and unfinished. And it REALLY falls apart near the end. Still, not bad.

I want something closer to L.A. Noire in that its about exploration and detective work. Unravelling cults, sniffing out corruption, getting all stuck up in the various earthly plots of the Elder Gods.

A sci-fi fantasy FPS set in space. You're a space pirate capturing space galleons with decks open to space and sails and masts and crap. You have a space pistol and a laser sword. You aim from the hip. You have a jetpack which you use to launch yourself at their ship. Also, magnet boots to walk on asteroids and ships.

I don't have a plot worked out, but I would really like to see a game about astronauts fighting pirates in space in 18th century galleons sailing through nebulas and asteroids fields and the rings of Saturn. There needs to be a kracken thrown in there somehow. Maybe an Eldritch abomination from a blackhole. Also, treasure buried on moons where the souls of dead possessed skeletons of dead colonists. Maybe a giant mecha piloted by a team of super sentai space dinosaurs who are a reoccurring boss.

Because fuck reality.
