A while back I was presented with several WHSmith vouchers at an award evening held at my 6th Form but as I havn't been in need of £20 worth of stationary they had been gathering dust on my windowsil. The other day I decided to see if there was anything worth buying on their website and noticed the entertainment section of the website and my eye was caught by the special edition of bishock 2 which had fallen from £70 to £39.99 so I figured with my vouchers I could pick it up for less than the normal price of the normal version.
However, afer carefull examination of the vouchers it seem they are "only to be exchanged for specific product groups, namely Books, Stationary and Educational CD-ROMs" and can't be exchanged for cash... which is balls.
So my question is; would I be able to go into my local WHsmith by £20 worth of "educational C-ROMs" or whatever, using the vouchers, at the till on the fisr floor leave the building go for a coffee and return with the recipt and the goods untouched in the bag, claim that my brother had already bought the same CDs and I would like to return them for my money. Then pocket the £20 go home and buy Bioshock 2 off their website - or would their be something on the recipt saying that I had purchased the goods with a voucher.
*Perhaps I could by £40 pounds worth of stationary using the the vouchers and a £20 note - perhaps then when I returned it they would give me it all in cash rather than returning the vouchers?
