First off, I'd like to apologise for creating yet another Religion thread, but I thought that this would be interesting one for people to think about.

If there was indisputable evidence that a God exists, and there is a heaven and a hell, and the Bible is entirely true (including the stuff that contradicts other stuff-God kept changing his mind :D); for example if God actually appeared to us and told us this, what would you do?

Would you continue along in your life as you do now; increase your Church attendance, become more respectful to others, repent all your sins and aim to follow the ways of God; or become an extremely active Christian, i.e. spread the word of God at every opportunity, including creating opportunities for yourself, basically dedicate your entire life to God; or other.

I have kept to this Christianity as this is what I believe the religion most people are familiar with.

I personally would continue on as fairly normal-I would probably try to attend Church, and try to avoid sinning, and if I do I would repent, but I reckon/hope that God would be forgiving enough to let me in to heaven.

Yeah, don't think I'd care much. Wouldn't be much of difference, though, 'cause me and God are like buddies.

He's a dick sometimes though, made Barcelona win the Champions League just to piss me off.

Take off my tshirt, fly to the moon and carve my initials there before I take over the world with my eye-beams and magical army of undead...

... But pretending for a second that that isn't a completely preposterous idea, sit down and have a chat with him, would be specifically interested in knowing why someone who claims to love us is directly responsible for more death and hate than anything else in history.

I do right now believe in God, I am a Christian. but I wouldn't say I'm the best one. So me knowing( in my own personal belief, so to me I do know) I probably wouldn't change much except feel guiltier than I already do for all my sins. I would hope he told us which sect of Christianity was right because there are so many out there and each have different interpretations of many things.

I'm liking this idea - the Holy Order scenario seems the way to go for me.

Either that, or I'd discover magic, attribute it to God and go around proclaiming my awesomeness before being assassinated, going to Hell and generally wishing I hadn't done something that could have helped humanity but instead decided to use it to assert my authority.

Or fall asleep, carry on as normal and maintain my position as agnostic, and claim indecisiveness allowance from the state.

Keep on living the way i do. when people do good things just to get into heaven it seems like an oxymoron to me

Are you talking old or new testament here? Old testament god was all "obey me or die! In fact, I might just kill you anyways." New testament god was more "If you listen to me I give you a reward." Also, is it strictly the Christian God?

I think that if God actually made an apperance, nobody would believe it. People tend to ignore things that will turn their world upsidedown.

Being an atheist is not the same as being a theist. I will change my mind depending on evidence. That is rational thought. If there was evidence of god, eg: he flew over my house, Id admit I had it all wrong and fall in line.

The only thing to change would be my church attendence... and cut the blasphemy. I'm a fairly good person anyway.

Until then I'll go with "not enough evidence".

I'm gonna be so surprised if that doesn't start a flame war.

But I think I'd continue more or less what I do now cos why would God want you if you suddenly changed your mind and accepted him now that there was proof. The whole point was faith I thought.

So if i was in God's shoes, I think I'd throw a massive FUCK YOU at anyone who tried to suddenly convert
